  • Tips to Get You Through Relicensure
  • LVIS; Not the King of Rock & Roll
    • LVIS is the IDOE’s online L icensing V erification and I nformation S ystem.
    • It is the portal through which all of you relicensure activities must proceed.
    • https://license.doe.in.gov/login The link to set up your all-important LVIS profile.
  • Tip # 1; Create Your Profile Early.
    • Do not wait until time to renew to set up your profile through LVIS.
    • There have been “glitches” in migrating some data to LVIS and you will experience “technical difficulties” if your data is not correct.
    • Correct your profile before proceeding.
    • Remember your unique username & password.
    • You can check the status of your application.
  • Tip # 2; Have a debit or credit card handy.
    • There is a fee involved for adding to or renewing your license, and the IN DOE does charge you the fee associated with using a credit card.
    • LVIS accepts only Visa and Mastercard debit/credit cards. These are the only allowable forms of payment.
    • You must acquire a prepaid Visa or MC card if you do not carry one of these.
    • The current renewal cost is $35 plus the additional fee.
  • Tip # 3: Uploading Credits…
    • If you have difficulty uploading more than one entry or set of university credits, make one entry, log out, then go back in and try to add the next entry.
    • If the problem persists, contact IDOE via email through the “contact us” link on the LVIS home page.
    • IDOE staff will not field telephone calls directly nor will they entertain “in person” inquiries.
    • The entire process is designed to be “on-line.”
  • Tip #4: It’s not what you know, it’s who you know!
    • Ask your local association president and building principal who the authorized license renewal administrator is for your school district.
    • Notify that person immediately upon your submission of your renewal points so that he/she is aware that you are waiting for your renewal.
  • Tip #5: Wait….but just for a bit.
    • If your renewal has been submitted and you have not received your new license via email within 2 weeks, proceed as follows:
      • Click on the Application Status link on the MY LVIS page (your profile page).
      • Check with the local administrator who is authorized to renew your license to see if he/she has been notified.
      • Contact IDOE via email through the “contact us” link on the LVIS home page.
  • Tip #6: Your situation is unique.
    • If your situation is unique and you cannot readily find a way through LVIS to either input information or otherwise address your circumstances, contact IDOE immediately via email through the “contact us” link on the LVIS home page.
    • IDOE responses are provided in the order received.
    • Avoid contacting IDOE multiple times. It will not help.
    • Do not travel to the IDOE offices in Indianapolis. It will not help.
  • When all else fails?
    • Contact your local association president or UniServ office for assistance.
