Established in 2009, ISIN is funded by Enterprise Ireland and managed by the ISA. ISIN is a free matchmaking and knowledge brokering service which helps software companies identify and engage with relevant third level institutions. This is achieved by facilitating productive interaction between software companies and research institutes to drive collaborative research, commercialisation and problem solving. The knowledge brokering is supported and enabled by the provision of a central point of access, the ISIN website www.isin.ie as a portal of information on funding, services and expertise to support collaboration. The network is primarily structured around 3C’s – Connecting, Collaborating and Clustering. The clustering element is brought about by ISIN enabling business and academia to join together to solve particular industry issues in a collaborative way.
