Unsere Vorbereitungen• As a group we’ll get familiar with Germany and the places we’ll visit: • Classroom discussions • Learn about culture, customs, traditions with assistance from ISE Beyond the Classroom Wiki • Internet research for trip• Seek out additional opportunities to practice German
  6. 6. Was machen wir in Deutschland?• Visit the capital city of Berlin• See the city of Munich• Explore the medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber• Experience the German Alps
  7. 7. Warum mit einer deutschen Familie wohnen?• To fulfill ISE’s commitment to offer studentscultural immersion opportunities abroad• Opportunity for students to observe and partakein daily life in Germany

Das Leben in Deutschland• German host families live in both urban and rural areas• ISE students visiting Germany will likely have the opportunity to attend school with a host sibling• German families typically eat fresh bread or crusty rolls with cheese, cold cuts and jam for breakfast, sometimes accompanied by a soft-boiled egg• In German Gymnasien, the students usually stay in one classroom, and the teachers come to them• Popcorn in German movie theaters is sugared, not salted
