INTRODUCTION The ISCRAM ASIA 2012 Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM ASIA2012) will be held at LOONG PALACE, Beijing, China, from October 17 to 19,2012. This conference develops from prior 5 ISCRAM-CHINA conferences, which were jointly sponsored by Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management Association and Harbin Engineering University, and will develop into an international conference this year in Asia.

CONFERENCE THEMESThe conference will focus on human dimension ofinformation systems for crisis response andmanagement to deal with theoretical and practicalproblems of crisis warning, forecasting,supervising, evaluation, drilling and decisionmaking in the fields of natural disasters (such asearthquakes, landslides, tsunamis, typhoon, flood,drought, frost injury, blizzard, sandstorm, etc),environmental disaster, city security, publicsecurity, production security, transportation safetyand enterprise crisis, etc.

In addition, a symposium on Disaster Prevention and Emergency Technique in Asia-Pacific Mega- City will be jointly hosted by Tsinghua University, China and University of Tokyo, Japan for the duration of the conference.
