The sensorwas located in front of a heat shield (shown dismantled inthe image) while measurement was conducted, in orderto protect the sensor from the high temperatures of thebrake disc.With the new Blue Laser technology from Micro-Epsilon,it is possible to measure very hot and glowing surfaceswith a high degree of accuracy.
