This means that in contrast to con-ventional lifts that have a chain between the two liftingcolumns, modern systems require no mechanical con-nection.Therefore, the previously normal threshold between thelift columns is not required. This makes the user’s dai-ly work much easier. No “obstacle” has to be overcomeduring entry and exit and it is much easier to position thevehicle. However, “automatic” lift height synchronisation,which was previously provided by the mechanical con-nection of the two columns, is now missing.The lift therefore requires a synchronisation controller orlift height monitoring system in order to ensure that thevehicle is raised evenly on both sides. Draw-wire sensorsare the preferred choice for height measurement.These sensors are easy to integrate, very compact andprovide a very attractive price / performance ratio relative Requirements for the measuring system:to the measuring range, as well as high accuracy.
