  • 2. Why Google+ Pages for IR? Google+ is becoming an important social media tool as Google integrates it with Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, and Chrome, which all dominate their respective applications.
  • 3. Key Branding Points Google+ pages are much like Facebook with cover photos and a profile image. Fill out your profile completely and follow our tips on branding as your profile and posts will be indexed around the web.
  • 4. Use Relevant Cover Images  Cover images grab the audience’s attention. Add stock information or additional branding; even variations in logos can be eye-catching.  For maximum effect, change your cover image regularly. Trade shows, events, or a news release are all great opportunities to take advantage of on-screen real estate.
  • 5. Add Other Social Media Links  Building links between your social media profiles, website, and press releases gives you a better change of controlling search branding. Thus join your Google+ page to all of your other networks.
  • 6. Key Engagement Points Creating enthusiasm around a Google+ page can be really tough. Focus on engagement instead of followers. By following the tips on the next few slides, you’ll be able to achieve a much greater level of visibility for your page and content.
  • 7. Mention Other Google+ Pages in Your Posts  When you find good content, don’t pass it off as your own. Find the author, add that page to a circle, then mentioned them when you repost the content, increasing your chance of getting you in front of their audience as well.
  • 8. Use Hashtags on Posts  Much like Twitter, Google+ allows for hashtags of keywords and phrases to assist others in finding content.
  • 9. Vary Post Content  Mix up your content rather than just posting press releases. Engagement rates are high on photos and videos. Also create slideshows or infographics from data published in your news releases.
  • 10. Add Events and Hangouts  Events with Google+ work similar to Facebook, and it’s possible to schedule a live event known as a “Hangout.” This provides a way for a company to hold a forum or Q&A session with directors and management, and even record them to publish on YouTube later.
  • 11. Use Saved Searches  A unique feature with Google+ is the ability to save searches, then check them periodically to see what is being discussed on the network. This can provide dozens of engagement opportunities daily. Start with your company name, industry, partners, and competitors.
  • 12. Key Metrics  Google+ Ripples. Google provides insights into how your post performs as it moves out into social media and away from G+.  Analytics Social Conversions. It’s great if all of your posts reach large audiences, but we run Google+ campaigns to get more eyes on press releases and important items.
