When CAN was first introduced, it enabled us to handle upcoming complexity and it was a major milestone towards modern com- munication inside the car. Today we have, for the different use cases, specifically adapted BUS systems in the vehicle. At low speeds we have LIN as a cost efficient entry for many body applications. The sensor busses PSI5 (originally used only at airbag applications) and SENT are gaining stronger interest from the R&D engineers. In the mid speeds CAN is clearly dominating and with CAN FD an interesting update is coming to the market. Higher speeds have been covered with FlexRay and MOST in the past years and with Ethernet there is now an attractive alternative to be looked at. This conference will on the one side, give a comprehensive overview about the E/E landscape, its drivers and its BUS systems. It will also look at new use cases, like communication when charging your EV and explore more deeply the different aspects of IP/ Ethernet, including a discussion about its higher layers and lessons learned with IP/ Ethernet in the avionics industry. Do not miss this necessary opportunity to have a look at functional safety, system integration, validation/ verification techniques and an outlook of what automated driving will change in the future E/E architecture.
