    15. 15. Cadbury (Kraft Foods) Case Study • Multi-site rollout with >1000 sites  Exinda has completed the first phase of a multi-year, multi-site rollout that has potential to be adopted by the entire Kraft company estate (>1,000 sites)  Multi-year managed services component will drive on-going revenue in the future  Exinda was selected after a thorough evaluation of leading WAN optimization solution providers including Cisco, Riverbed, Bluecoat, Ipanema and Silver Peak • Support for key business applications  Cadbury (Kraft Foods) wanted a solution that was platform agnostic, and supported both public and private cloud services, while allowing them to leverage the public internet • Intelligence at the Edge  Strategy was to move the intelligence from the core components out to the edge; WAN optimization becomes your application control point – management strategy, controls the end user experience  By moving the control the edge, they were able to improve the user experience, introduce flexibility and stability, and introduce life cycle management tools • Reduce costs  With Exinda, the customer was able to cut over 50% of the total WAN spend and paid for the solution with the savings Performance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. 16. 16. Kraft Foods ROI• 45%+/- Savings of Global Annual Spend  Reduced Local Access by >45%  Reduced Port Speeds, Reduced Cost  Removed Class of Service, Reduced Cost  Layers 1-3 were Commoditized, Replaced by IP Transport• 65% Reduction in Traffic Footprint  Exinda Reduced the application Foot Print by 65%  Significantly Improved Throughput Performance (Pure IP is Simply Faster than MPLS)• Improved End-User Experience, Faster is Better• Improved Availability - More Resilient Solution• Improved Turn Up Timeframe – Days/Weeks vs. MonthsPerformance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. 19. 19. • “The Exinda appliances give us much more granular visibility, control, and reporting of applications and users on our WAN while optimizing site-to-site data replication traffic.” Brett Raymond, IT Head at Hempsons Solicitors• “We have achieved over 200% performance increase in our Data Replication at peak throughput, with an average increase of approximately 70%. Our Citrix users continue to enjoy excellent application delivery performance, even with the additional high volume of data replication that was recently added to the WAN. We have achieved this without having to spend on additional bandwidth,” said Raymond.Performance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. Proprietary & Confidential | 19

    21. 21. • Branch Office to Data Center and Branch Office to Branch Office• Q4 2010• 180 of 600 locations (primary sites with Lasik evaluations)• This was a deal where Vodafone was competing with Virgin Business, BT and Orange for Managed MPLS services; deal differentiator was Exinda Visibility & Control• Optical Express was trying to solve network performance and management reporting issues they faced while reducing operating cost by at least 40%• Exinda was the solution recommended by Vodafone Unified Communications to ensure VoIP and Streaming Video traffic was prioritized, and at certain sites intelligent acceleration was deployed to reduce file transfer times and increase physician efficiency when reviewing patient records.Performance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. 22. 22. • Public/Private Data Center to Public/Private Data Center SAN Replication and Data Center to Branch Location (Casino) Optimization• Q2 2010 with add-on business in Q3 2011• 40 of 44 sites in the UK• Greenfield deployment with primary competition from Riverbed and Blue Coat• Genting looked to improve speed of iSCSI SAN transfers for data replication between data centers and casino locations. Reduction of overall network traffic by through the use of dynamic policies tied to Active Directory.• Exinda delivered a 45% reduction of network traffic, improved data replication time to near real time across all sites and reduced CIFS traffic volumes by 80%Performance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. Proprietary & Confidential | 22
    23. 23. • Branch to Data Center and Mobile Worker (Road Warrior)• Q2 2010 with add-on orders in Q4 2010 and Q2 2011• Exinda is present in all company locations and on all mobile employee laptops today• Riverbed and Blue Coat• Improvement in user experience for access of files (CIFS) whether at branch office or in the field at remote location• Looking to improve user experience at branch offices when accessing files following a server centralization project and prioritize real-time voice and streaming video applications. Currently, the company is also utilizing the Edge Cache to reduce the impact of http based traffic including video and software updates.Performance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. 24. 24. • Branch Office to Data Center• $140k for initial 7 sites with additional 13 site add-on order in Q3• 20 of 40 sites (20 net new due to acquisition)• The only other option Inteva considered was to look for better performance from the existing service provider “Virtella”. They suggested either a straight acceleration solution or to add more bandwidth.• Looking for a solution that would help them with their latency and bandwidth issues involving transfers of large CAD files between multiple sites that are geographically dispersed (North America, Asia and Europe)• Jody Kelly, the Infrastructure Manager preferred our UPM approach as it gave him full visibility into their network so he could make intelligent decisions on what to control and streamline prior to applying application acceleration. The other options left him flying blind.Performance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. Proprietary & Confidential | 24
    25. 25. • Branch to Branch and Branch to Data Center• Q2 2011• Initial order of 9 units with additional 11 pending• Toltest was already an existing customer who owned an Exinda 5700 unit for straight traffic shaping. Lakeshore was Riverbed customers before merging with Toltest• Using Exinda to prioritize Skype traffic (their primary source of communication between their contractors and subcontractors. Calls placed from North America to Afghanistan, Dubai etc.), while also using acceleration to speed up transfers of engineering/design drawings.• Their Steelhead appliances could not provide prioritization for Skype calls and could not accelerate them so Exinda was naturally a good choice. It also gave them visibility into what was happening in the network. The WAN Manager gets a lot of heat if VOIP calls are dropped or are jittery. So having insight control and visibility is critical to himPerformance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. Proprietary & Confidential | 25
    26. 26. • Internet Gateway Traffic Shaping• Q2 2011• 100% (Single Site Network)• Blue Coat PacketShaper• MLBN was seeing 98 percent utilization of the network at their routers and were concerned that a high-traffic event like the MLB Draft or the All-Star Game would bring down the network• Exinda appliances provided full application visibility on the network along with the ability to regulate traffic to optimize available bandwidth, and reducing bandwidth utilization by one third. MLB Network is prioritizing staff applications, back-office LAN, broadcast LAN, guaranteeing the statistics system which is business critical, and also guaranteeing the traffic that‟s going to MLB.comPerformance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc. 27. 27. • "We had increased bandwidth on our network to more than 1 gigabit per second, but our legacy packet shaping appliance topped out at 600 megabits per second, so we really had no visibility or control over what was on our network," said Ken Woo, assistant director for communications services at Ryerson University. "The Exinda appliance will allow us to manage up to 10 gigabits of traffic, so it gives us a lot of scalability for the future.“• One obvious issue was that P2P traffic was using 200 Mbps of bandwidth alone, crowding out more important applications. Using the 8000 Series‟ policy management system, Woo set a policy that limited P2P traffic and within a minute, the P2P applications went from using 200 Mbps to using 30 Mbps. “I was impressed,” said WooPerformance You Can See © 2002 – 2011, Exinda Networks Inc.
