  • SIs are in order of their longevity with AppSense:CSC have endorsed our technology and use AppSense as the standard for all their desktop virtualization offerings, on both Citrix and VMware. CSC did more than $1M of business net to AppSense FY10Both HP and EDS have adopted AppSense and use the technology extensively, they are recommending AppSense to their large Enterprise accounts such as GM, State Farm, Pfizer.IBM has written “Technical Work Products” on AppSense and baked us into their solution, which they are actively marketing out the End User Services Group within GTS.Dell offers Flexible Computing which incorporates AppSense for Digital Identity for Custom solutions (note Dell has a DAAS offering based around Liquidware Labs – Profile Unity)Fujitsu recently won the DWP deal and are bidding on several large other opportunities primarily in Europe, including a large Scottish Bank that will incorporate AppSense.Avanade and Accenture both have reference architectures which include AppSense. Avanade is a major player in Windows 7 migration, and their implementation of the Microsoft Optimized PC, with App-V,EMC Consulting is committed to using AppSense as part of their VMware solution stack, along with Windows 7 migration and some Citrix business. All these partners have reference architectures based around AppSense and actively selling solutions including AppSense.SIs are the driver for large scale Enterprise business for AppSense.Accounts:GD = General DynamicsAhold = a major international supermarket operator based in Amsterdam in the NetherlandsFDA = Food and Drug AdministrationDMI = Distribution Management Inc. – US based companyUTMB = University of Texas Medical BranchSPSA = Strathclyde Police Services AuthorityAMB = Global Property Management company – HQ = San Francisco, CA

  • The introduction of new desktop and application delivery mechanisms makes the desktop estate more heterogeneousUsers are more demanding, increasingly mobile, and use various accessing devicesThe desktop can no longer be a monolithic, unique entity – as it has been until now.
  • The introduction of new desktop and application delivery mechanisms makes the desktop estate more heterogeneousUsers are more demanding, increasingly mobile, and use various accessing devicesThe desktop can no longer be a monolithic, unique entity – as it has been until now.
  • So the old method of the desktop being a unique entity is changing to a componentized model, consisting of standard OS, standard applications and an independently-managed user environment. These components are managed separately and brought together to form a fresh, new, personal desktop each time the user requires it. When the user is finished with their desktop session, the user environment is returned to the personality store and the corporate desktop assets are deleted. No desktop need be maintained, and the user is always presented with a pristine, personal desktop. This opens up opportunities for reduced desktop management, increased agility and a more secure desktop estate – all while ensuring full user adoption and satisfaction. It is vital that the desktop and user environment are able to be delivered using a combination of different OS and application delivery technologies and methodologies; such as TS, VDI, PC, Streaming etc

    • 26. John really requires User Rights Management
User Rights Management enables flexible control of policies, achieving optimal scenario
    • 27. URM Functionality Options: Elevation
Ideal for Non-Administrator users that require ‘specific’ Administrator rights
Elevation of user rights for applications:
Specify applications to run with Administrator credentials. The user is not an Administrator, but runs specific applications as an Administrator.
Elevation of user rights for control panel applets:
Elevate privileges for individual applets such as wireless internet, printer, date & time, ensuring a standard user can still make the changes they need to do their job.
    • 28. URM Functionality Options: Reduction
Ideal for Administrator users that do not require ‘Full’ Administrator rights
Reducing Rights to restrict application rights:
Specify applications to run with reduced credentials. The user has Admin credentials by default, but is forced to run specific applications as non-Admin.
Reducing Rights to restrict access to system settings:
Prevent an Administrative user from altering settings that they should not change. This could include firewall settings or to prevent the stopping of certain core services.
    • 29. Summary
User Virtualization is a recognized category and AppSense and the market leaders in this space
Endorsed by Citrix and Microsoft and utilized by many global System Integrators
Our unique scalable technology allows independent management of the user across computing platforms

UTMBdecided to you Citrix XenDesktop to deliver virtual desktops to any user, in any location, on any device - however found they required more than basic profile management to personalize the standardized desktop components.
Kaweah Delta Health utilize AppSense to enable the standardization of their Citrix XenDesktop delivered Virtual Desktops across multiple accessing devices, including mobile Apple iPads. Users now receive the fastest logons and personalized desktops from standard desktop OS and Applications, regardless of how the desktop is delivered to them and across any accessing device.
QBEis utilizing AppSense user virtualization solutions to deliver desktop virtualization to support offshore developers and to help effectively manage their user profiles. With AppSense, QBE is experiencing faster logon times and end user satisfaction. In addition, AppSense is allowing seamless migration between desktops regardless of delivery mechanism or operating system.
Conexus Credit Union uses AppSense user virtualization technology to migrate users to new Windows operating system versions, as well as accelerate the adoption of App-V delivered applications by enabling the seamless sharing of user’s personal settings between App-V delivered applications, locally installed applications and published apps. They can now maintain personalization settings across any application and platform without effecting the user’s working experience.
