  • 2. Background • Debriefing is a critically important component of simulation-based education • Some simulation programs utilize more than 1 instructor for facilitating debriefing (eg. IPE) – “Codebriefing” • Little is known about codebriefing: current practice, barriers, ideal methods International Network for Simulation-based Pediatric Innovation, Research and Education
  • 3. Research Question • What is the current practice and state of co-debriefing in pediatric simulation programs around the world? – How often is it done? Who co-debriefs? – What approaches / frameworks are being used? – What are the barriers? Strategies for success? – What are the important aspects of an effective co-debriefing? – What do facilitators require to help improve the quality of co- debriefing? How many INSPIRE sites currently engage in co- debriefing, and would be interested in phase 2/3 of the project? 3.
