Cross theformer demilitarized zone (DMZ) along the BenHaiRiver(1954 – 1975) where vestiges offierce battles can be seen including the ruins of the old Quang Tri Citadel, Dong Ha Town,Hien Luong Bridge and the Vinh Moc Tunnels. The roadrunning along the coastal plains offers idyllic views of sand dunes, rice fields and villages.Overnight in Dong Hoi.Day 12: Dong Hoi - Phong Nha - Vinh (B,L,D)Transfer to the Xuan Son ferry landing (50km) by motorcycle and take a boat ride on the SonRiver to spectacular Phong Nha Cavern comprising Bi Ky Cave & Cung Dinh Cave. Steps leadto superb TienSonCave(1km), the most magnificent limestone cave in Vietnam and just openedin 2000. Onwards to Da Nhay Beach (50km) for refreshment.
