  • This is a vision about making fibre network enabling smart cities and brilliant citizens.Change slide to: Smart cities and brilliant citisens – fro communities (UK/Germany)Can be a slide on it’s own: We are all fibre and material and syste, solutions, but we reaaly do not think that the step between vision of a network and technology should not be an issue. Technology shouyld be transparent and not a disturbing issue. It should dissaper in the arly stages.

  • Tobias Ahl Rala NGN AB, 2014 Transform Digital We’re passionate about the best public telecommunication networks possible
  • Tobias Ahl Rala NGN AB, 2014 Fibre is the only option! Singapore – Infocomm Development Authority They provide a ubiquitous fibre based infrastructure to every home and business in Singapore. The infrastructure supports Gbit capacities at every connection. In 2010 they had the infrastructure in place
  • Tobias Ahl Rala NGN AB, 2014 Fibre infrastructure is about citizenship! Fibre goes beyond capacity! • future proof • true competition on services and operations • enabling choice for every enterprise, citizen and authority! Behind every connection awaits individual needs and expectations. However the trend is very clear if the possibilities are there.
  • Tobias Ahl Rala NGN AB, 2014 Swedish access speeds end of 2013 10 mbit 30 mbit 100 mbit
  • Tobias Ahl Rala NGN AB, 2014 Rural seems to be for the challengers! People like to stay and live rural. They do also see the benefit of broadband! Elevating costs by empowering local fibre heroes and local resources But they are new to fibre as an public telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Tobias Ahl Rala NGN AB, 2014 The project challenge - Costs are also risks! A very typical project cost distribution! But the high cost also translates into risks needed to be managed. Machines standing still, cables not reaching it’s destination. Impacts CAPEX Hurts lead times Important for customer experianceTrenching and reinstatement Documentation Interest rate Design and planning Project management Material
  • Tobias Ahl Rala NGN AB, 2014 Empowering rural challengers! Simple but powerful project tool Proven and integrated solutions Tailored and optimized design Simple and easy projects for local fibre heroes Benefit from a solution built upon hundreds of projects Savings on total project costs and lower OPEX Compatibility tested Clear instructions Lower risk Up and run in a heartbeat Support the local group Access to expertise Less material Less trenching Better execution
