Applying•Computer Science students apply to ECSE – East Finland DoctoralProgramme in Computer Science and Engineering•Deadlines: February 28, May 31, August 31, November 30•Application documents– Filled out application form– Copies of your Masters degree certificate and transcript of academicrecords. If the degree certificate is awarded by another university thanUniversity of Eastern Finland, the copies must be certified– Research plan– Study plan– Names of supervisors– Prove of English proficiency in the case of foreign applicants.

English language requirements•Foreign applicants must prove their English language proficiencyby any of the following language tests– PTE (Academic), minimum of 59– TOEFL, minimum PBT 580 and in writing minimum of 4 / IBT 90 andin writing minimum of 22– IELTS (Academic), minimum overall score 6.5, in writing minimum of5,5• The English language test is not required for applicants who havecompleted their previous studies in English OR taken the matriculationexamination in English language in Finland (IB degree or English as A1language) OR conducted their secondary education in English in Australia,Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom or United States.• An official statement given by that institution and indicating that themedium of instruction of the previous studies has been English must beincluded to the application
