  5. 5. Pharma companies struggle with a set of common “opportunities for improvement” Customer, sales and market data can be found in multiple data sources throughout the organization. A single business language towards data doesn't exist. The multi-functional employees have different needs for managing their business when it comes down to reporting: • Standard sales reporting in static pdf’s (push and pull, scheduled and on-demand) • Ad-hoc analytical capabilities in a professional reporting environment (OLAP) • Managerial dashboards with nested or cascading KPIs Up-to-date information, managing the reports and securing access to sensitive information can be difficult. A limited number of internal resources is available to manage business intelligence. 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 5
  6. 6. Intelligent business reporting is a mandatory step towards commercial excellence Business Intelligence is about • getting the right information to the right people • fact-based decisions • clear vision and planning 1. What is happening? Past 2. What happened? 3. Why did it happen? Present 4. What will happen? 5. What do I want to happen? Future 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 6
  7. 7. IM.smart: your solution of intelligent day-to-day reporting IM.smart is the missing link towards intelligent reporting • All data will be centralized within the system so the need for data exchange between different "stakeholders" (Reps, Management, Marketing, Business Intelligence, …) within the company will be minimized • A semantic layer on top of data will hide the complexity of the database and will be responsible for a good representation of the data • The strong graphical interface will make the IM.smart reports easy to understand and will help with the interpretation of the data • Different levels of reporting are possible. The content of the reports will be adapted to the needs of the user. E.g.: • Field force reporting • Business performance dashboards • Data can be updated automatically into the tool by scheduling data uploads 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 7
  8. 8. IM.smart: your solution of intelligent day-to-day reporting IM Associates will predefine different reports based on their experience within the pharmaceutical industry • Predefined sets of reports for all types of users Enables business agility • Adapt business rapidly and cost efficiently IM.smart is an online hosted platform • Installation on user's laptops or on servers within the company will not be needed • Roll-out of IM.smart only takes some weeks (in stead of months if not hosted) IM.smart enables clients to focus on their core business 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 8
  9. 9. The IM.smart platform runs on an online platform • The IM.smart hosted environment is accessible from any network at any time (24/7 availability). • The platform is hosted from servers of “COLT” in a secured environment • Data are back upped at regular moments in time and data is severely secured • The platform is constantly monitored and is maintained by our IT partners • The up-time of the network is 99,95% • For all technical problems, a service desk will be available during office hours (08:30 – 17:30). The helpdesk can be contacted by phone and by a web tool. 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 9
  10. 10. Accurate and real-time reporting is built on different layers, not only the presentation matters! Data Layer – different types of data can be loaded • Sales data • ERP data • CRM •… Data integration layer – Update and validation of data • Once the data is available, an automatic update system will be created in order to update all data on several moments. Semantic layer – From data to business language • This layer will translate the data language to a business language. Presentation Layer – presenting & analyzing • Create Dashboards • Create predefined dynamic reports • Create analytical reports 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 10
  11. 11. IM.smart platform Data Layer – different types of data can be loaded • Sales data • ERP data • CRM •… A wide range of data sources can serve as data supplier 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 11
  12. 12. IM.smart platform Data integration layer – Update and validation of data • Once the data is available, an automatic update system will be created in order to update all data on several moments. Update of data will be an automated process in 4 steps: 1. Extracting the data from the data sources ( different data sources, different formats) 2. Apply rules on extracted data (filtering, sorting, aggregation, cleansing...) 3. Load data in a Data Warehouse 4. Apply business validation rules – audit reports 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 12
  13. 13. IM.smart platform Semantic layer – From data to business language • This layer will translate the data language to a business language. This semantic layer will be responsible for: • Business representation of data • Abstract business users from underlying data complexity • Save metadata (Information that describes the content of different data) • Apply security on the data loaded in the tool 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 13
  14. 14. IM.smart platform Presentation Layer • Create Dashboards • Create predefined dynamic reports • Create analytical reports 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 14

  16. 16. Project outline: a best-in-class implementation starts with a well defined Proof Of Concept A staged and time-boxed process will deliver the platform. The Proof Of Concept (POC) will be developed in order to prepare a demo version on customer's data. It will also demonstrate the power of the IM.smart services. Plan Define POC Develop POC Decision Implement ONLINE implementation 15/02/2010 © 2010 IM Associates: IM.smart 16
