  • 3. • Space Technology Institute (STI) is a key research institute on space technology belongs to Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). • STI is responsible for fundamental and advance researches related to space science and technology; researching and developing small satellite technology; planning and implementing independent science technology programs involving space technology.
  • 4. • The first remote sensing satellite VNREDSat-1 launched on 7th May, 2013 Hanoi Hue city

  • 8. • An important task is Space Education and raising the awareness of social community. • As a member of Space Education and Awareness Group of APRSAF (Asia Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum), Space Technology Institute have carried out many activities and disseminated knowledge about space science and technology nationwide.
  • 9. • Primary school pupils: • Space science education, Space painting • Secondary school pupils: • Space science and technology education, Water rocket, Space seed • High school pupils: • Space science and technology education, Space seed, Water rocket • University students: • Parabolic flight
  • 10. Variety lectures of space science and technology were introduced: • Solar system • Discovery Mars • VNREDSat-1 satellite technology • Space science and technology study and career
  • 11. • Parabolic flight contest in Vietnam: June 2013 Asian Student’s Microgravity Flight Experiment Contest– 2013 Collaboration between JAXA, VAST, STI, UET
  • 12. • 15 proposals were submitted • 3 ideas went to the short list • 1 team were selected: “The interaction of Accelerometer and Gyroscope in Microgravity Condition” by students of University of Engineering and Technology

  • 16. • Handmade astronomical telescope: every 3 months
  • 17. Events: • Meeting with astronaut • World space week • Science camp
  • 18. • Sharing experience among member countries and propose new ideas for future collaboration programs. • Student exchange, study tour, summer school. • The supports from international partners is important and crucial for the success of these programs. • Build up and strengthen collaboration with nationwide astronomy clubs and worldwide astronomy associations.
