This is a Roman one-arch bridge. It is an example of an arch bridge. As you can see, not all bridges are extremely new. This bridge was made probably in B.C.E(before common era), during the age of the Roman Empire.
This is a lift bridge. Lift bridges are for when there are boats crossing under and the bridge is almost on the water. When a boat is about to cross under, the controllers will lift the bridge so the boat will pass under safely.
