  2. 2. The Fashion Dream <ul><li>Fashion aspiring persons mostly talk of the dream or selling that dream </li></ul><ul><li>Talk of how that dream will be produced is never mentioned. </li></ul><ul><li>The cut and the construction is not a famous topic when discussing the fashion dream </li></ul>
  3. 3. Production in the Fashion Industry BEFORE computers <ul><li>Usually by a team of workers </li></ul><ul><li>Each with their own specific job </li></ul><ul><li>Usually extremely time consuming </li></ul><ul><li>Repetitive work involved </li></ul>
  4. 4. Computer debut into the fashion world <ul><li>Computers were introduced to the fashion industry before the 1980’s. </li></ul><ul><li>They were extremely rare </li></ul><ul><li>After the debut, people found computers to be vastly convenient for designers. </li></ul>

Computer aided design <ul><li>Apparatus allows factory tailoring on a body. </li></ul><ul><li>Body dimensions are measured and inspected by a camera. </li></ul><ul><li>Camera converts the measurements to a wire frame representation of the body (exact dimensions) </li></ul><ul><li>Measurement came be used to form mannequins in that size. </li></ul><ul><li>Pattern sizing and color coordination </li></ul><ul><li>With a simple clicks of a button, you can change the pattern of the shirt, color of the shorts, even accessories on different skin tones. </li></ul>

Sketching? <ul><li>Sketching is still frequently done by hand. </li></ul><ul><li>However, computers can help enhance the sketch. </li></ul><ul><li>Transferring the sketch to a computer can help you place the design upon an actual body. </li></ul><ul><li>Consider variations that can make the design better. </li></ul><ul><li>Sketching can also be done with a computer’s interface with a sensor equipped pen and tablet. </li></ul>
