Who Can Run for Office?
Member in good standing – a member whose membership is up to date with both IFMA HQ and the chapter at the time of elections and during the entire term of office while elected.
An officer who has not just completed serving a term in that office.
Nominating Committee chaired by the most recent past chapter president willing to serve
Committee chair appoints a minimum of two additional members
Not all should be chapter board members
Committee should meet and put together the officer slate
The Nominating Committee Chair presents the slate at a chapter meeting
This is an important opportunity for the general membership to make nominations from the floor!
Ballot is distributed
Includes Nominating Committee’s officer slate
Nominees brought from the floor for each officer position
A blank space for write-in candidates for each officer position
Nominating Committee chooses distribution method
Electronic is acceptable (unless state laws prohibit)
