  • PAIB Committee - IFAC• PAIB Committee is a core committee of IFAC which strives to promote and contribute to the value of professional accountants in business by increasing the awareness of the important roles professional accountants play.• The PAIB Committee provides leadership and guidance on relevant issues pertaining to professional accountants in business and the business environment in which they work. Following are the six key topic areas of the Committee:  Roles, Domain and Competence  Governance and Ethics  Sustainability and Corporate responsibility  Risk management and Internal control  Financial and Performance management  Business reporting• Pakistan is represented by Khalid Rahman and Yacoob Suttar
  • PAIB Committee - ICAP• The Council of ICAP is giving focus to the PAIBs in Pakistan as 80% of ICAP members are working in the industry.• The PAIB Committee of Pakistan is one of the most vibrant PAIB Committees.• Main focus areas of PAIB – ICAP are: • Holding CFO conferences • Professional Excellence Awards • Development of manual and procedures on various subjects • Review of various documents being worked upon in IFAC • Five task forces and their team leaders are as follows: 1.   • CFO ConferencesCFO Conferences in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad from 2010 to 2013
  • CFO Conferences- During four years CFO conferences have been attended by approx. 4100 participants.- These conferences yielded discussions on around 52 diverse topics of interest by approx. 130 individual speakers and panelists.- The topics being discussed represent a rich source of knowledge.- A separate web page of the PAIB has been developed on the ICAP website which can be accessed at http://www.icap.org.pk/ib/temp1/- Videos & presentations on the topics have been uploaded on the above web page, thus creating a ‘Center for Excellence’ for ICAP members.- As a result all the discussions and presentations may be viewed through the ‘Center for Excellence’ link available on PAIB webpage.- ICAP Members can view the speeches and presentations made in the Conferences by visiting the webpage at their own convenience.

  • Professional Excellence Awards• Every year ICAP calls for submission of entries about any value added work done by the Accounting fraternity.• The projects are evaluated by a team of jury comprising of senior/eminent members of the industry with financial background.• The jury decides upon the top three entries.• Winners are recognized during the CFO Conference in Karachi.

  • ICAP Professional Excellence (PE) Awards 1st Award Winner AKD Securities Limited Issuance of Participation Term CertificateScope of the project was to raise funds through Participation Term Certificate in order to clear a substantial amount of debt component from the client’s balance sheet.
