    3. What are Web Standards?  W3C Standards – A working group dedicated to leading the web to it’s full potential. Includes (X)HTML, CSS, DOM, WAI-ARIA etc.  HTML5 – The future mark up  Accessibility – Access for all  Testing – User focused & browsers
    4. Why do we have Web Standards?  These standards are  If we did not have in place so that web web standards the content can be web you become very understood and be fragmented as accessible to any content would only platform or device be visible to isolated that can interpret audiences these standards.

    7. Out with the old, in with the new - HTML5  Meaningful tags  Great for search engines  Better for accessibility (screen readers)  Less markup
    8. Access for all
    9. Who’s it for?  Blind users  Partial/poor sight  Colour blindness  Deaf users  Web users from outside your industry who may not understand industry jargon or acronyms  Web users whose first language is not English and who may not be able to comprehend complicated language
    10. What else?  Accessible to mobile phone users  Search engines  Other websites (RSS, external APIs)  Non mainstream browsers
    11. Test all the way  Test form the beginning  Eye tracking & user reading patters for designs  Accessibility testing during HTML  Browser testing

Browsers Why Upgrade?  Improved browsing  New versions are experience more secure  Not all browsers  New versions are render the page to faster look the same  IE8, FF3, Safari 4,  Good browsers make Opera and Chrome all better coding have acceptable standards possible standards support.
