• Sweden 15th place in the world – 233 meetings.
110 in Stockholm. 38 in Gothenburg. XX in Malmö. XX in Uppsala.
• Founded in 2009, the Swedish Network of Convention Bureaus (SNCVB) brings together twenty Convention Bureaus throughout the country, from north to south. The Network´s two main focus areas are business value and knowledge in order to jointly develop the meeting industry of Sweden. Within the SNCVB, joint projects are run and meeting professionals can exchange knowledge and experience
• Why did we create a network when we are partially competitors?

Competition versus Cooperation

Many convention bureaus consisted of one person only, therefore the need to meet with others of the same profession was large. The competition aspect, we have solved by focusing on the areas where we can strengthen each other and Sweden as a meeting country without hitting over on the own destination. It is thus not a cartel.
• The purpose of this network is that we, that represent convention bureaus in Sweden, have a common forum that develops us as professionals and that together we run relevant projects in our key focus areas; business benefits and knowledge development.
• Representatives of national organization- and association meetings
The meeting industry’s players
Decision-makers, opinion leaders and politicians at local, regional and national level
Media
• Increase the international meetings to Sweden
Increase the national awareness of the function of a CVB
Raise the awareness of the meeting industry’s importance for decision makers, opinion leaders and politicians, local and national
To be a natural discussion partner with industry associations and other networks within the meeting industry
Develop reliable statistics for the national meeting industry and get a common view of how much a national congress turnover
• Statistics
To produce a homogeneous survey and during 2013 measure at least 10 national congresses in different destinations and of this draw a report of the value of these at the year-end 2013/2014.

Database
Manage five nomadic updates in 2013
To SNCVB regularly report the status of the database
Optimize the content so that the database information is as complete as possible
National database
Rotating meetings – meetings that’s not have something to do with ICCA.

PR
A fully functional website
Five press releases during the year

Market analysis
Determining the criteria and the countries/regions to be compared and analyzed
Develop a description of SNCVBs member destinations that relates to the capacity, the position etc. as knowledge- and evidence base in an international context.

Day of meetings
• Day of meetings - Brings together national organization- and association decision makers. 50 persons
Two purposes
knowledge of convention bureaus- who we are and what we can help them whit
