    • Environment for IMS Java OPDB Applications Environment needed for IMS Java OPDB Applications
    • Software Requirements – V12  Software requirements – V12 • UNIX System Services (USS) –z/OS UNIX System Services available at runtime –Unix System Services file system on z/OS Product 5694-A01 Java –IBM 31-bit SDK for z/OS, Java 2 Technology Edition, Version 6,or higher, or Sun Java SE Development Kit (JDK) Version 6 or higher Product 5655-I58 •IMS On Demand Feature – FMID JMK1206 •See the corresponding IMS Program Directory for additional software –Levels vary depending on release OPDB Supported in IMS V11 –Needs will vary depending on Environment 4
    • IMS Components  The following are the IMS components required to set up the IMS Java OPDB Application Environment •Consolidated Service Layer (CSL) –Structured Call Interface (SCI) Allows members in the IMSPLEX to communicate with each other Routes messages and requests within an IMSPLEX Registers and deregisters IMSPLEX members One per z/OS image –Operations Manager (OM) Controls Operation of an IMSPLEX Routes commands to IMSPLEX members User interface to register commands Can write records to the z/OS system logger Must have one per z/OS image – can have multiple 5
    • IMS Componentsto set up the IMS Java ApplicationIMS components required -2 OPDB Environment – 2 •Consolidated Service Layer (CSL) – cont. –Resource Manager (RM) – optional Manage resources managed by multiple IMS systems in an IMSPLEX Can maintain information in a resource structure (recommended) Must use resource structure when more than one RM Coordinates IMS wide processes (such as global online change) One or more in a z/OS image –Open Database manager Supports access to IMS Databases that use the following: The IMS Universal DB resource adapter for the J2EE platform The IMS Universal JDBC driver The IMS Universal DL/I driver The Open Database Access interface (ODBA) The ODBM CSLDMI interface 6 RRS optional
    • IMS Components - 3 IMScomponents required to set up the IMS Java OPDB Application Environment – 3 –Type 4 Universal Driver additionally needs •TCPIP Connect between host (z/OS) and internet •IMS Connect Connection between TCPIP to ODBM 7
