Prophets will sometimes give you instructions on how to repent to God for Him to possibly relent. Where there is repentance there is hope. Sin brings judgment but God’s forgiveness brings rejoicing.

Understanding the Prophetic Pt. 4The Book of Habakkuk:“Habakkuk was complaining to God not about serving Him, but about thepeople’s wickedness he was experiencing.”Habakkuk 1:5-11“The Lord answers Habakkuk’s complaint saying He will punish them using theChaldeans. The Chaldeans were an ancient Semitic people from Babylon.”“Despite sending the Chaldeans to deal with people, Habakkuk complained toGod asking why He tolerates wickedness. Even though prophets hear answersdirectly from God on matters, they also need understanding on issues too.”Hebrews 10:35-36Habakkuk 2:4Romans 7:17Galatians 3:11

Shigionoth:“This is a musical type of prayer of sudden atmospheric changes to tap intothe eternal realm and Habakkuk was the only type of prophet to pray thisprayer.”The Book of Zephaniah:2 Kings 22:1“Josiah reigned during the time of Zephaniah and was only 8 years old whenhe became king.”“Zephaniah is the great great grandson of Hezekiah and his name meansJehovah hides which describes God’s great protection of His people whenthe day of His anger arrives.”Zephaniah 1:2-3“Zephaniah is largely dedicated to declaring the judgment of God inconnection with the second coming of Christ.”These are the five nations going to be judged with the rest of the world:The land of Philistia, Moab and Ammon, Cush, Assyria, and every city inJerusalem.”
  3. 3. “The closing verses of Zephaniah include the promises God made to Israel inthe future such as the re-gathering in the promised land, being honored andpraised by nations, and restoration of their goods and fortunes returning tothem.”The Book of Haggai“Haggai means festival or feast of YHWH.”“Haggai’s ministry was during the reign of King Darius and he had a word forZerubbabel who was the governor of Judah and the High Priest Joshua.”“Zerubbabel was the grandson of Jehoiachin, was a descendant ofDavid, and was in direct line of the ancestry of Jesus.”1 Chronicles 3:17Luke 3:27Haggai 1:4 – “Many people make excuse for the things that God has toldthem to do. IS it time to focus on personal things and forget that God’s houseneeds to be taken care of?”“If you are doing something for God, He will give you strength to carry it outall the way. God will not give you strength to do what you want.”Leviticus 10:11
  4. 4. “Haggai is told by God to question the priests concerning the law becausethey were offering things but they were defiled by sin. As a result God shakesthe heavens and earth, shakes royal thrones and overthrows the power ofKingdoms and appoints Zerubabbel as His chosen servant to operate as Hissignet ring.”The Book of Joel:“Joel means YHWH is God.”Joel 1:5 - “God uses prophets to address complacency.”“God’s punishment for sin is overwhelming, dreadful, and unavoidable.”“Prophets will sometimes give you instructions on how to repent to God forHim to possibly relent.”“Where there is repentance there is hope. The book ofJonah takes place in Nineveh as well but is 100 years before Nahum’sministry.”Nahum 1:1-6 “This is a detailed description of God’s anger because prophetsare very detailed because they give instruction.”Sennacherib - 2 Kings 18:13-35“Judah shared a yoke with Nineveh because they partook in their sins.”“Woe is an exclamation of grief or distress.”“Nineveh is compared to a harlot because she obtained all her possessions byprostituting herself, enslaving nations, and through witchcraft.”“Prophets expose witchcraft whether it is coming from outside sources orfrom within a camp.”The Book of Malachi“The last book of the old testament, Malachi means messenger of God.”“The book of Malachi is God rebuking the priests.”
  6. 6. “Contempt means dishonor or disrespect.”Malachi 1:6-14“The priests were supposed to be men after God’s heart and know God, but weresacrificing unworthy sacrifices thinking that God would accept anything. This is asign that prophets can rebuke priests, pastors and leadership who do not stay inline with God’s commands.”“God says that My name will be great among the nations, so He expects nothingbut great.”Numbers 1:47-54“When sin arrives in a covenant that God made, it makes it unholy. When thishappens God sends a prophet to remind of the covenant for correction or to warnof judgment.”Deuteronomy 7:3-42 Corinthians 6:14-18“Priests & leaders need to be corrected for the standard that God has set forhandling His word and His people. Leadership should be open to receive theprophet.”“God will remember those who are faithful to Him. It’s not for a believer todetermine good or bad or right or wrong, evildoer s will get theirs.”
