About Munnar<br />The name is believed to be derived from the Malayalam/Tamil words Munu (three) and aaru (river)<br />referring to the town's strategic location at the confluence of the Muthirappuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers<br />There are various tropical plantations of tea, coffee, cardamom and other spices, dense forests and wildlife sanctuaries full with various types of flora and fauna.<br />
