48. Office 2007 Service Pack 1 - Changes
Description
When you try to use Data Access Object (DAO) code to
synchronize a replicated Access 2007 database, you receive
the following error message:
Run­time error '3251':
Operation is not supported for this type of object.
When you use a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
macro in Access 2007 to update records in a Microsoft Jet
3.x database, you receive the following runtime error
message:
Run­time error '3001':
Invalid argument
In Access 2007, you open a Microsoft Office Access 2003
database that contains a custom shortcut menu for a subform.
Then, you right­click the subform. When you do this, the
default shortcut menu is displayed instead of the custom
shortcut menu
When you try to run a Microsoft Access project (.adp) in
Access 2007, the project may run slowly. Or, the project may
take longer than expected to respond to actions that are
performed on the project
You close or compact and then close an Access 2007 database.
Then, you reopen the database. After you do this, you cannot
use some menus or some menu items.
When you click the Add New Field column in the main
datasheet, Access 2007 does not take focus out of its
subdatasheet. Therefore, the data type of the most recently
focused column in the subdatasheet is changed when you try
to add a new column to the main datasheet by using the Data
Type drop­down box.
When you use the Label Wizard in Access 2007, you receive a
security prompt. If you click OK on the security prompt, you
receive an error message. If you click Yes on the error
message, you are returned to the Label Wizard. When you try
to finish the wizard again, you may receive another error
message.
In Access 2007, you receive the following error message when
you try to execute a query that contains parameters:
Access 2007 returns only the first page of records from a
User Information table. The first page of records contains
no more than 2,000 records.

49. In Access 2007, the page controls for the transparent tab
are not transparent. This issue occurs on any Microsoft
operating system, such as Windows Vista or Windows XP, that
has themes turned on and enabled by default.
You install Access 2007 and Microsoft Office Access 2003 on
the same computer. When you run Access 2007 after you run
Access 2003, Access 2007 takes several minutes to repair
itself.
After you run an update query that sets an AutoNumber field
to Null in Access 2007, and then you compact the database,
you can still update the AutoNumber field data. This issue
may result in the loss of data. After you compact the
database, the MSysCompactError table is created. This change
should remove the ability to update AutoNumber fields.
When you open a form that is bound to a Microsoft Office
SharePoint table, it is possible to add data to the form.
However, when the form is closed, the data is lost. This
behavior does not allow you to add data to a form in a read­
only database in Access 2007. The form is bound to a
SharePoint table.
When you open a custom shortcut menu bar in a form in Access
2007, the shortcut menu is missing. Additionally, you may
receive an error message that says that the shortcut menu
does not exist when you open the database again.
When you import Outlook contacts into Access 2007,
unexpected characters may appear on the Mail Merge
Recipients dialog box
This problem occurs when the Outlook contacts contain some
Romanian characters.
Fields that are bound to time­intensive expressions appear
blank in Access 2007. These fields are empty until you click
the textbox or until you click anything outside of Access
2007 if the following conditions are true:
• The Control Source property of a textbox uses the
DLookup() function.
• The query that is called by the DLookup() fuction
references a control on a form.
Text fields are detected as memo fields when you paste some
text fields from Microsoft Office Excel to Access 2007. When
Access 2007 detects columns that have fewer than 255
characters, quot;fields of typequot; text is created.
This issue also occurs in any language version of Access
2007 that has the Bulgarian regional setting enabled.
When you programmatically select an item in a List box on a
form, the selected item does not become visible if it was
not visible before you selected it in Access 2007.

50. In Access 2007, the click event for an image control does
not work when the image control is inside a tab control.
You cannot use the OpenRecordset function to open some DAO
database objects through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC)
connections in Access 2007
The behaviors of the StopAllMacros macro action and the
StopMacro macro action are swapped in Access 2007.
You create a macro that uses the DoCmd.SelectObject method
to select an object in the database by name. If you specify
the name of an object that does not exist in the database,
you do not receive an error message. Additionally, nothing
happens.
When you try to import a large .CSV file, such as a file
that is larger than 30 megabytes (MB),, Access 2007 appears
to stop responding at the import dialog box. After a few
moments, you may receive the following error message:
quot;File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile
registry Entryquot;
When you click OK to close the error message, you can
usually finish the import process. All records are imported
successfully.
When you import data from an Excel spread sheet into Access
2007 by using the long integer data type, the number 1 is
incorrectly added to some numbers.
In Access2007, the modified date that is displayed in the
Navigation Pane for all objects, except tables and queries,
is never updated.
When you try to convert an .accdb file to an .mdb file,
nothing happens. No error message appears.
When you change the Enabled property of a checkbox on a form
by running a macro that uses the SetValue action, you may
receive the following message when the sandbox is enabled:
Access failed to evaluate one or more expressions because
'Enabled' was referenced in an expression. Only functions
and properties that are considered to be safe are allowed in
expressions when Access runs in sandbox mode.
For more information on sandbox mode, search for quot;Sandbox
modequot; in Access Help.
When you open a database in runtime mode, the floating UI
for attachment controls and for formatting in rich­text
enabled fields is not displayed correctly.

51. hen you update referenced cells, you update the literal
cell address instead of the referenced cell. This issue
occurs when you update Excel data through the ISAM
programatically.
When you try to delete multiple objects by using the delete
option on the context menu, database objects that were not
selected may be incorrectly deleted.
You cannot use code that uses the index of the item in a
list box to set the selection.
If you send an quot;update existing dataquot; e­mail message that
contains a Yes field and a Nofield, a system that uses non­
English language settings cannot process replies to the
message. This is true if the user does not manually localize
the value within the quot;Yes/Noquot; field.
Additionally, the quot;yesquot; string and the quot;noquot; string are not
localized when you create an HTML Data Collection form that
contains a boolean field.
When you try to delete a record in a sub­form that is
embedded in a main form, the row is longer displayed.
However, the record is actually not deleted. If you press F9
after you delete a row in the sub­form, you will receive the
following error message:
Operation not supported in transactions
When you add an attachment field to a table, you may receive
the following error message:
The Microsoft Office Access database engine could not find
the object.
Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and
the path name correctly.
This issue occurs when the field has a union query that has
more than one union on tables with complex data.
When you set the data type of a new field to a non­text
type, such as Attachment, in the Datasheet view, Access 2007
may stop responding
When you return to the property sheet after you change the
RecordSource property, Access 2007 may stop responding
The issue can occur after you click Builder in the property
sheet to open the QBE.

When you run a Microsoft Visual Basic application that has
an Excel 2007 worksheet in a OLE container control, the
worksheet is rendered outside the OLE object boundaries.

52. When you try to use arrow keys to move the cursor in a text
box in Excel 2007, the cursor moves in the opposite
direction.
When you use Microsoft Office Excel 2007 to open a Microsoft
Office Excel 2003 spreadsheet, shapes that have a custom
color in Excel 2003 have a different color in Excel 2007.
The custom color frequently reverts to a default color in
Excel 2007.
You save a workbook in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 while in
Page Break Preview view. When you open the workbook in
Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and then try to change to Normal
view, you receive the following error message:

You create a chart that contains a secondary value (y) axis
label in Excel 2007, and then you save the workbook in one

When you open the workbook in Microsoft Office Excel 2003,
the secondary value (y) axis label is moved to the primary
axis of the chart.
When you use the CallByName function and the VBGet Call Type
constant to programmatically return a chart series or
another chart object in a Microsoft Visual Basic for
Applications (VBA) macro in Excel 2007, you receive the
following error message:
Run­time error '438': Object doesn't support this property
or method.
You use the Microsoft Active Accessibility 2.0 Software
Development Kit (SDK) Tools to create a custom solution to
programmatically determine the position of the cursor in a
cell. The cell is in an Excel 2007 worksheet or in a
Microsoft Graph worksheet. To move the cursor into the
worksheet cell, you use the arrow keys, or you press TAB.
When you do this, the custom solution incorrectly determines
that the cursor is at the center of the cell. This is true
if the cell is selected but text has not been typed into the
cell.
You have a linked Excel object in a Microsoft PowerPoint
presentation. If you update the object in Excel, and then
you click the Close button (X) in the upper­right corner of
Excel, the Excel object in the PowerPoint presentation is
not updated. However, if you save the object in Excel before
you close Excel, the Excel object is updated as expected in
the PowerPoint presentation.

53. When you open a workbook that contains calculations in Excel
2007, the workbook may stop responding (hang). Excel 2007
may stop responding on each calculation in the workbook.
Note If you open the workbook in an earlier version of
Microsoft Excel, the calculations complete successfully in a
few seconds as expected.
You experience slow performance in Excel 2007. This issue
occurs if the following conditions are true: • A chart
contains lots of data points.
• The value (y) axis is fixed.
You experience slow performance in Excel 2007. This issue
occurs if the following conditions are true: • A chart
contains lots of data points.

When you open a workbook that contains a chart that includes
a polynomial trendline, parts of the formula that are higher
than the third­order are missing.
When you format a series in an area chart that has a border,
part of the border may be missing.
You reposition data labels in a chart in Excel 2007. Then,
you save the workbook in the Excel 97­2003 Workbook (*.xls)
file format. If you close the workbook and then reopen the
workbook, the data labels in the chart are moved to a
different position. Or, the data labels are missing.
When you open a workbook that contains a chart that has axis
labels in Excel 2007, the axis labels may be truncated or
missing.
In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, graphics do not appear in
.mht files that are created by using Cognos Impromptu. For
example, images, graphs, and charts do not appear as
expected in an Excel 2007 workbook.
In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, the major scale axis units,
the minor scale axis units, and the maximum scale axis units
adjust at different chart heights than in Microsoft Office
Excel 2003. Therefore, charts may not have a uniform
appearance when you convert an Excel 2003 chart to Excel
2007.
You use the Microsoft Excel 4.0 Get.Chart.Item macro
function to retrieve the position of series data points in
an Excel chart. When you run the macro function in Excel
2007, incorrect chart point data is retrieved.

54. When you open an Excel workbook in Excel 2007 by using a
hyperlink that contains a query string as part of the URL,
you may experience one of the following symptoms: • You are
incorrectly prompted that the workbook that you are trying
to open is in a different format than the file name
extension specifies.
• You are not prompted that the workbook that you are trying
to open is in a different format than the file name
extension in the query string specifies.
You open an Excel 2007 chart that is embedded in an Office
document such as a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. You
change the zoom level of the Excel chart to less than 100
percent, and then you close the Excel chart and return to
the Office document. When you open the embedded Excel chart
again, the position of the chart area may have moved.
This problem may also occur if you change the zoom level of
the Excel chart to less than 100 percent, and then you save
the Office document in a Microsoft Office 2003 program. When
you open the embedded Excel chart in a 2007 Microsoft Office
program, the position of the chart area may have moved.
You open a workbook that contains a chart that has labels on
the vertical axis. If you save the workbook in Microsoft
Office Excel 2007 and then reopen the workbook, the labels
on the vertical axis of the chart may wrap. This may cause
the chart to appear incorrect.
Chart does not adjust references in Excel 2007
You create a multi­axis chart in Excel 2003. When you load
the chart into Excel 2007, a data series of the
corresponding data series will have their z­axis order
reversed.
The GetChartElement method in Excel 2007 returns information
about the chart element at specified X and Y coordinates.
However, this method cannot correctly recognize the values
of the xlXErrorBars element and the xlYErrorBars element.
When you paste to a PivotTable by using Match Destination
Formatting with conditional formatting, the conditional
formatting is lost because Excel 2007 does not know to which
PivotTable to apply the formatting.
You create a default 2D column chart in Excel 2007. Then,
you add a bevel effect to one of the data series. When you
print or print preview the chart and select the Print in
Black and White option, the fill effect is lost.
You have an Excel 2007 file which calls Excel 2007 to run an
XLM macro. If the XLM macro contains at least one formula
that pushes more operation onto the stack than the number of
arguments to the macro, Excel 2007 may crash.

55. In Excel 2007, the position of data labels in a pie chart
may change after you save it in an earlier format of Excel
and then reopen it in Excel 2007.
You have a series on both the primary axis and the secondary
axis of a chart in Excel. Then, you delete all series by

When you click Options on the Tools menu in OneNote 2007,
the Options dialog box takes a long time to appear.
For example, the Options dialog box takes about 10 seconds
to appear. However, you expect it to appear in one second.
You use one of the following versions of OneNote 2007: •
Czech
• Greek
• Hungarian
• Polish
• Russian
• Turkish
You configure the text recognition feature to use the
default language of the version of OneNote 2007 that you are
using. However, when you try to obtain text from a picture,
you obtain no text.
When you use the Czech or Danish version of OneNote 2007,
you cannot configure the text recognition feature to use
Czech or Danish.
When you use the text recognition feature to obtain text
from many pictures in OneNote 2007, the text recognition
feature may stop working.
In OneNote 2007, you use the text recognition feature to
obtain text that is contained in pictures. When you paste
the text onto a page, OneNote 2007 parses the text as if it
were in the default language of the version of OneNote 2007
that you are using. Therefore, the spelling checker reports
many misspelled words.
For example, OneNote 2007 is installed in English. When you
obtain Spanish­language text from a picture, OneNote 2007
parses the Spanish­language text as if it were English.

69. You insert a picture into a page in OneNote 2007. At the
same time, OneNote 2007 is indexing other content. In this
situation, OneNote 2007 does not index the text in the
picture until it finishes indexing the other content.
Therefore, text in the picture does not become immediately
searchable.
Additionally, OneNote 2007 may consume some CPU resources if
it tries to determine whether it has finished indexing the
other content. For example, OneNote 2007 may consume about
20% of CPU resources.
After you open a notebook that is shared by multiple users
in OneNote 2007, a memory leak may occur.
For example, if you leave the notebook open for a whole day,
the memory usage for OneNote 2007 increases from 35
megabytes (MB) to 608 MB.
Consider the following scenario. You have a notebook that is
shared by multiple people in OneNote 2007. The notebook is
stored on a server. On the server, a user inserts a shape
into the notebook. At the same time, another user inserts a
shape into the notebook on a client computer.
In this scenario, when OneNote 2007 merges the changes, it
discards the shape that was inserted into the notebook on
the client computer.
Note This issue also occurs for the shape of the Ink
Serialization Format (ISF).
You install a language pack on the English version of
OneNote 2007. When you insert a file as a printout, you
receive the following error message:
Print driver is not correctly installed.
This problem occurs because OneNote 2007 tries to find a
printer whose name is identical to the language of the
language pack. However, no printer has this name. Therefore,
OneNote 2007 cannot locate the correct printer.
This problem also occurs when you change the name of a
OneNote 2007 printer.
On a client computer, you open a document library on a
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site. The document
library uses the quot;Microsoft Office OneNote sectionquot; document
template. Additionally, the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
site requires credentials.
When you click New Document, OneNote 2007 starts. However,
OneNote 2007 does not create any section or open any
notebook.

70. You have a computer that has Microsoft ActiveSync installed.
You use the screen clipping feature in OneNote 2007 to
capture a screen clip of a Web site in Windows Internet
Explorer 7. When you do this, the screen clip may contain an
incorrect URL and an incorrect tab name.
You have a OneNote 2007 notebook that is stored on a Windows
SharePoint Services site. You open the notebook by using a
Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path. When you work in the
notebook, you may lose data.
You cannot scroll through documents in OneNote 2007 by using
the scroll wheel of some wireless mouse devices.
You open a OneNote 2007 file. You click Add to Dictionary to
add a misspelled word to the custom dictionary. When you
open the file on another computer in read­only mode, you
receive the following message:
This section contains changes that cannot be synced because
access to the section file is denied. Correct the file
permissions or save your copy of this section elsewhere.
When you right­click a OneNote 2007 file and then click
Print, the file is not printed. Or, you cannot insert a
OneNote 2007 file into a Live Meeting session.
A page contains a ghost bullet in OneNote 2007. The section
that contains the page is not read­only. When you open the
page, the section is saved unexpectedly. Additionally, if
the file is stored on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
site, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 sends a notification
that the file has changed.
If the file that contains the section is read­only, you
receive the following message:
This section contains changes that cannot be synced because
access to the section file is denied. Correct the file
permissions or save your copy of this section elsewhere.
On a computer that is running Windows Vista, you open a
OneNote 2007 file that is stored on a Windows SharePoint
Services 3.0 site. If any problem occurs in Windows
SharePoint Services 3.0, the file is opened in read­only
mode. Therefore, you cannot edit the file.
You open a OneNote 2007 file that is corrupted. However, the
information bar that warns you about the file corruption may
not appear. Therefore, you do not realize that the file is
corrupted. If you change the file, the changes may be lost.

71. hen you click a OneNote 2007 protocol handler to open a
remote file, you do not receive a message before OneNote
2007 opens the file.
In another situation, the OneNote 2007 protocol handler is
inside the IFRAME element. When you click the OneNote 2007
protocol handler, Internet Explorer opens the file without
notifying you.
Note A OneNote 2007 protocol handler has the following

In the release version of OneNote 2007, only the following
languages are enabled for the text recognition feature: •
Dutch
• English
• Finnish
• French
• German
• Italian
• Norwegian

You have a OneNote 2007 file that is stored on a Windows
SharePoint Services 3.0 site. You open this file in OneNote
2007. Then, you copy a hyperlink to an element in the file.
For example, you copy the hyperlink to a notebook or to a
section in the file. When you do this, the hyperlink may not
work.

72. This article describes an update to the Time Zone Data
Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook. This update
contains a change to the Microsoft Windows Installer package
(.msi file) that enables you to install and use the Time
Zone Data Update Tool for Outlook on computers that are
running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1).
A delegate opens another user's mailbox. Then, the delegate
searches for an e­mail message. If an e­mail message is
marked as private, the message unexpectedly appears in the
Preview pane.
Every time that you try to start Outlook 2007, it crashes.
This issue occurs if the junk e­mail rule is set to NULL.
In an Item.Close() event, if the currently closed item is
discarded by making a call to the Item.Close olDiscard
method, you receive the following error message:
The Item’s properties and methods cannot be used inside this
event procedure.
You experience performance issues in Outlook 2007 when you
work with large .pst files or with large .ost files.
When you sign­in to Communicator, Outlook is started in the
background. For example, when you check Task Manager, the
Outlook.exe process is running. Additionally, Outlook­
related items, such as meeting reminders, may appear.
To check for a missed conversation, you click the quot;Voice
Mailquot; search folder in Outlook 2007. Or, you click the
quot;Missed Conversationquot; notification in Microsoft Office
Communicator. If you then check for a missed conversation in
the same session of Communicator, you receive a notification
that states that Outlook could not be started.
In Outlook 2007, you cannot add an appointment to a Windows
SharePoint Services site calendar by sending the appointment
to the calendar.
You create a form that uses the Item.Close statement in an
Item_Write event. When you save and then close a new item
that was created by using the form in Outlook 2007, Outlook
2007 closes unexpectedly. Additionally, you receive the
following error message:
Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

73. When a message is saved as a missed conversation in the
Microsoft Office Communicator folder in Outlook 2007, the
message indicator for the folder does not indicate a new,
unread message.
The regional options on the computer are set to Latvian. In
an Outlook form, you either click a date in a date field or
type the date and then add a space after the date in a date
field. When you press TAB to exit the date field, the date
is removed. Additionally, the date is replaced with None.
You try to open a user's shared calendar in Outlook 2007. If
the user's mailbox is in a different administrative group,
the shared mailbox cannot be synchronized correctly.
Additionally, an event that resembles the following event is
logged in the Application log:

You use a custom solution in a trusted simple MAPI
environment to send e­mail messages in Outlook 2007. If an
e­mail message contains more than five recipients, the e­
mail aliases are not resolved. Additionally, the Outlook
security dialog box unexpectedly appears
You have multiple appointments scheduled for a day in the
calendar in Outlook 2007. When you print the calendar in
Monthly style, only two appointments are printed for the
day.
This issue may occur even though there is sufficient room
for all the appointments to print for that day.

74. Daylight saving time (DST) for Western Australia starts on a
different day in 2007 and in 2008 than it did in 2006. In
2007 and 2008, DST starts at 2 A.M. on the last Sunday in
October, and DST ends at 2 A.M. on the last Sunday in March.
This hotfix package fixes Outlook 2007 so that it
automatically adjusts to these DST changes.
You use the Plan a Meeting wizard in Outlook 2007 to plan a
meeting in which multiple resources have been added to the
meeting request. If you click to clear the resources that
you do not want Outlook to try to book, the resources are
not removed from the meeting request. Additionally, Outlook
continues to try to book the resources.
You use a Microsoft Exchange Client Extension that has
toolbar icons. If the toolbar icons contain transparent
colors that were applied to the icons in earlier versions of
Outlook, the transparent colors are no longer transparent
when you use the toolbar in Outlook 2007.
You sort your Inbox in ascending order with the oldest
messages at the top of the Inbox. If the newest item in the
Inbox is selected, and you switch to a different folder, the
newest item in the Inbox is no longer selected when you
switch back to the Inbox. Instead, an older item is selected
near the top of the Inbox.
You copy or you move items from an Offline Folder file
(.ost) to a Personal Folders file (.pst). When you click a
message in the .pst file, the message is not displayed in
the reading pane. Instead, you receive the following message
in the reading pane:
This is a message header. The full item has not been
downloaded
If you try to open the message in the .pst file, the message
is not opened. Instead, you receive the following message:
Can't open this item. This operation is not supported until
the entire message is downloaded. Download the message and
try again.
After you set the CSM_DO_NOT_CRAWL option and the
CSM_CLIENT_DO_NOT_CHANGE option in the
CrawlSourceSupportMask property for a custom message store,
the custom message store is crawled in Outlook 2007.
When a custom form calls the Item.Close method, Outlook 2007
may stop responding (crash) unexpectedly.
When you search in public folders for activities that are
linked to a contact, the activities that are linked to the
contact are not listed in the search results.
When you forward a plain text e­mail message that contains
an attachment, the body of the e­mail message is missing
when the message is received. However, the attachment is
received.

75. If the Mailbox Cleanup Wizard starts when you are moving
messages, Outlook 2007 apparently stops responding (hangs).
In Outlook 2007, you click Options on the Tools menu, click
the Preferences tab, and then click to clear the Default
reminder check box. Then, you accept a meeting request. When
you view the meeting in the calendar, the Reminder box is
not set to None.
You use an Outlook Mobile Service (Text Messaging) account
in Outlook 2007 on a computer that has the regional options
set to Turkish. When you try to send an e­mail message such
as a text message or a multimedia message to a recipient,
the recipient does not receive the message. Additionally,
you receive a non­delivery report (NDR).
When you view an HTML­formatted e­mail message in the
preview pane or when you open an HTML­formatted e­mail
message, the body of the e­mail message is blank.
You view other users' calendars in Outlook 2007. If you lose
network connectivity, the other users' calendars are removed
from the Calendar view when the network connection is
restored.
You start Outlook 2007 in Cached Exchange Mode and with the
reading pane active. If an e­mail message that contains a
custom form that has code is selected, and the MessageClass
is changed, the custom form and the code are displayed
unexpectedly in the reading pane. For example, this issue
occurs if the MessageClass is changed to IPM.Note.ReadEvent.
Additionally, CPU usage may be greater than expected.
You try to view the send options for a fax address on a
computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server. If there
are more than five address spaces configured for the fax
address, the send options do not open. Additionally, you
receive the following error message:
Cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected
is not valid for this recipient. To set option for this
message, click Options on the toolbar.
You run Outlook 2007 on a computer that has the time zone
set to (GMT+02:00) Jerusalem. If you have recurring
appointments that occur after April 1, you cannot open the
appointment. Additionally, you receive the following error
message:
You changed one of the recurrences of this item, and this
instance no longer exists. Close any open items and try
again.

76. You use the PSTDisconnectDelay registry value to release the
lock on the .pst file in Outlook 2007. When you try to
perform a function on the .pst file, you receive an error
message that resembles the following error message:
Cannot rename PST_name : It is being used by another person
or program. Close any programs that might be using the file
and try again.
For example, this issue occurs when you try to rename the
.pst file.
When you attach a file to an e­mail message in Outlook 2007,
the attachment does not appear in the e­mail message. This
issue occurs if you save the e­mail message before you
attach the file.
You run a program that uses the Microsoft Windows quot;Selected
Itemsquot; color to select an item. When you use that program to
capture the text of a selected item in Microsoft Office
Outlook 2007, the program cannot capture the text and cannot
use the text following scenario. As an administrator, you

local Personal Folders file (.pst). To do this, you use
Group Policy to prevent the user from adding a .pst file to
his or her profile in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
However, if a user right­clicks an e­mail item, drags the
item to the Deleted Items folder and then clicks Copy, the
item is unexpectedly copied to the Deleted Items folder in
the user's local .pst file
You add another user's mailbox to your profile in Microsoft
Office Outlook 2007. When you perform an action that opens a
custom form in the other user's mailbox, the custom form
does not open. Additionally, you receive the following error
message:
The form you selected cannot be displayed. The object could
not be found.
Daylight saving time (DST) for New Zealand starts on a
different day in 2007 and in 2008 than it did in 2006. In
2007 and in 2008, DST starts at 2:00 A.M. on the last Sunday
in September. Additionally, DST ends at 3:00 A.M. on the
first Sunday in April. This hotfix package updates Outlook
2007 so that it automatically adjusts to these DST changes.
You create a meeting request that has a resource such as a
meeting room as a recipient in Microsoft Office Outlook
2007. When you view the Scheduling page, the public
free/busy information for the resource is missing or
incomplete.

77. Consider the following scenario. You use Cached Exchange
Mode in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. Additionally, you use
the DownloadOAB registry value to prevent the automatic
download of the offline address book (OAB). When you press
F9 to send and receive e­mail messages in all Outlook
accounts, Outlook unexpectedly tries to download the OAB.
Additionally, you receive the following error message:
TASK 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004010F)
: The operation failed. An object could not be found.
You create an update to a meeting request in Outlook 2007.
If the meeting request is open when you create the update,
you receive the following error message:
The function cannot be performed because the message has
been changed.
However, when you click OK to close the error message, the
update or the exception is sent to the attendees.
Fixes are available to resolve various issues that occur in
the Change Calendar Time Zone functionality in Outlook 2007.
These fixes were included in the updated Time Zone Data
Update tool for Microsoft Office Outlook that was released

When you subscribe to an Atom feed that was published by the
new version of Blogger, all previous blog entries display a
date of 1/1/06 in Outlook 2007.
When you subscribe to multiple RSS feeds in Outlook 2007,
some duplicate messages that have the same text and links
are displayed. Some duplicate messages have the same time
stamp. Some duplicate messages have different time stamps.
When you modify some e­mail items in Outlook 2007, no event
message is displayed. Additionally, when you open the
Application event log, the event log lists a Warning event
instead of an Information event. You should receive the
following event message:
Outlook Search has encountered an error and is temporarily
disabling indexing for store %1 (error=%2).
Note In this event message, %1 is the store name, %2 is the
error code.

78. The AutoDiscover service will now also use DNS SRV records
to locate the appropriate AutoDiscover URL. For more

Montenegro has been added as a new country in the Contacts
Address Parser and in the Junk Email Filter International
Options.
The Search Status dialog box always displays twice the
number of unindexed items in the current folder. However,
it should indicate the number of unindexed items across all
folders.
Users cannot obtain calendar free/busy information via the
object model if the server is not using a public folder.
At times, users are unable to cancel a meeting. Microsoft
Outlook warns them that the item has been changed, but
closing and reopening the item has no effect .
When customers use Encrypted File System on their temporary
files folder, they cannot use the Save As feature in Outlook
to save attachments to drives that are not encrypted.
At times, a meeting is duplicated on the calendar. One item
is tentative and the other item has been accepted.
Duplicate items may appear in a WSS list during a sync
between Outlook and WSS. This issue was fixed in SP1.
The View.CalendarViewMode property was not returning results
in the object model. This issue was fixed in SP1.
At times, a calendar summary cannot be sent even though it
is enabled.
Even though users have not received new time zone
definitions, they are autoprompted to correct their
appointments.
Clicking on a new mail notification prompt can cause a
message to be mistakenly marked as Read.
Installing an Office 11 application when Office 12 is
already installed can prevent mail from being indexed.
Sent messages could be mistakenly left in the Outbox on the
server if the user checks the option to save replies with
the original message in folders other than the Inbox.
The mouse cursor intermittently switches to a busy cursor
while browsing mail by using the keyboard.
The Properties button for the modem does not work when you
click quot;Connect using my phone linequot; on Internet E­mail
settings.

79. If you use a right­to­left (RTL) language such as Hebrew or
Arabic, appointments may appear outside the calendar space
when they are printed.
Outlook items can be moved to a read­only SharePoint list
from the quot;Move to Folderquot; menu in the item's Ribbon.
However, these items are not actually synched to the
SharePoint list.
The mail message body may be lost when forwarding e­mail.
Object Model (OM) clients cannot programmatically inspect
the VBScript on their custom form.
At times, Outlook experiences a short freeze after a POP3
download batch is completed.
At times, it takes a long time to perform a folder switch
when switching to a folder that contains many messages.
Memory usage spikes after adding several RSS feeds to
Windows Internet Explorer 7.
An Object Model (OM) client tries to create a hidden item in
a folder with which to store settings. However, that item
becomes visible and appears in the Inbox.
A special RSS folder can be created regardless of group
policy.
A user deletes an existing recipient from the quot;Toquot; or quot;Ccquot;
line and then selects the quot;Reply All with IMquot; or quot;Call Allquot;
option in the personal menu or Ribbon. When the user does
this, a conversation windows opens that contains all the
recipients, including the deleted recipient.
When printing the month view of a calendar, events that span
multiple weeks are not drawn beyond the first week.
When you share a folder with a delegate, the delegate can
start caching the shared folder even though he or she did
not specifically request to open it. The delegate has no
link to your calendar. Therefore, the delegate cannot stop
the caching process.
You create a custom form and then call quot;item.Closequot; in the
event callback of a VBScript that is associated with the
custom form. When you do this, Outlook crashes.
When POP3 is configured with SSL via Autodiscover.xml, SMTP
is incorrectly configured to use SSL.
When you create a recurring meeting request that has an
exception, changes that were made to the meeting may be
lost. This issue was fixed in SP1.
After rebasing a meeting using the Time Zone Update Tool,
Outlook sends updates to all attendees, including all
resources. Outlook no longer sends updates to resources.

80. Outlook now appears in the Set Program Access and Default UI
of Windows.
If a user's computer hibernates or goes into standby mode,
the list of shared calendars in the Calendar navigation pane
may be lost.
An unnecessary automatic prompt is displayed when a user
changes his or her time zone. This issue is fixed in SP1.
If a user has a recurring Calendar item that has mismatched
time zone data, Outlook cannot open the item.
A meeting organizer receives responses to a meeting request.
When the organizer opens the meeting, the attendee names may
appear two times.
If a user in one Exchange forest is added as a delegate to a
conference room in a different forest, that user will not be
able to open the mailbox. This issue was fixed in SP1.
In certain cases, users do not see free/busy information.
This issue occurs because dynamic time zones are not
supported by the availability service. This issue was fixed
in SP1.
If your system clock is behind the clock of the Exchange
2007 server's system clock, a meeting that you have accepted
may revert to being tentative. This issue was fixed in SP1.
Unicode strings in some rules conditions or exceptions cause
some characters to become question marks (?). This issue
was fixed in SP1.
Outlook hangs when large groups of messages are moved from
one store to another.
Outlook may hang when it plays the reminder sound.
Outlook may hang when it runs together with the OneNote add­
in.
POP3 sync is sometimes slow. An issue that contributed to
this issue was fixed in SP1.
If a user experiences a sync problem at startup that is not
a network error, that user will not receive new mail in that
folder unless he or she switches folders and returns to the
problematic folder. This issue was fixed in SP1.
When sending an e­mail message that has a subject that is in
Unicode, the subject of the received messages may become
quot;??????.quot; This issue was fixed in SP1.
If two or more security forms apply to a particular user,
that user may have the incorrect security settings applied.
A large number of items may fail to be indexed. This issue
was fixed in SP1.
Items that a user tries to index while shutting down are
dropped and may not be indexed.
