  • Slide 1: Hook/attention grabber •
Quick stories/facts about the benefits of the automotive industry making the switch from gasoline to bio diesel as a fuel source.
  • Slide 2: Hook/attention grabber •
Quick stories/facts about the benefits of the automotive industry making the switch from gasoline to bio diesel as a fuel source. Briefly explain that with advances in automotive technology there will be no significant power drop offs and with even more time maybe increases and mpg (miles per gallon) increases.
  • Slide 3: The Big Idea : Take the audience on a journey explaining the adverse affects of the carbon produced by fossil fuels (extraction, production and use) on not only the planet, but the inhabitants as well.
  • Slide 4: What’s in it for your audience? Explain why your topic is important or worth discussing.
Explain to the audience that if they get ahead of the change they will be considered hero’s and can set the price point as they have in the past.
  • Slide 5: Why should your audience listen to you? Explain your ethos (personal experience, expertise, and credibility).
  • Slide 6: Call to Adventure (pages 38-39)
Tell the audience why you ask them to lead the change, why they must take the steps to do so and how failure to do so will only hasten our descent to a planet so polluted that it can’t be saved.
  • Slide 7: Preview the three main points that will support your big idea
Bio Diesel is a cleaner burning fuel source
Bio Diesel offers the same miles per gallon as conventional diesel fuel
There are several versions of Bio Diesel fuels and all are easier to produce than drilling into the earth for fossil fuels
  • Slide 8: Introduce and set up Supporting Point One
  • Slide 9: Factual or emotional evidence
    Discuss facts retrieved from ConsumerReports.Org
  • Slide 10: Factual or emotional evidence
Personal conversations I’ve had with fellow gear heads, muscle car enthusiast and mechanics
  • Slide 11: Introduce and set up Supporting Point Two
Introduce the facts supporting my claim that bio diesel offers the same fuel economy as petroleum based fuel.
  • Slide 12: Factual or emotional evidence
Article published by Consumer Reports in April of 2009 states that a blended version of Bio Diesel out performs petroleum based diesel fuel by five miles
  • Slide 13: Factual or emotional evidence
Conversation with Eric Sherman; high performance engine builder and fan of diesel trucks (built fastest Camaro in the world in Feb. of 2009; Ethos)
  • Slide 14: Introduce and set up Supporting Point Three
Introduce facts that the process for producing bio diesel fuels are all easier and more cost effective than the traditional drilling into the earth for fossil fuels
  • Slide 15: Factual or emotional evidence
Realizing that the cost of not switching to bio diesel would be more costly for both the planet and it’s inhabitants than the cost of truly developing bio diesel as a gasoline fuel replacement alternative.
  • Slide 16: Factual or emotional evidence
Conversation with Felipe Wright; auto mechanic and drag racer and he believes bio diesel is the only logical choice in the interim (has been racing and fixing on cars for over thirty years. Ethos, Pathos)
  • Slide 17: Call to Action (pages 42-43)
Explain to the executives and engineers alike that the change must begin now, this is the only viable planet in our solar system that can sustain our type of life now, we’ve already terra formed the earth
  • Slide 18: Summarize the main points
Bio Diesel is a cleaner burning fuel source
Bio Diesel offers the same miles per gallon as conventional diesel fuel
There are several versions of Bio Diesel fuels and all are easier to produce than drilling into the earth for fossil fuels.
  • Slide 19: Restate big idea
Hammer home the main points of the “Big Idea.” Explain the importance of why bio diesel is the only option and why it makes sense to make the switch as soon as possible
  • Slide 20: Clincher/new bliss (page 44)
By convincing enough executives of oil refineries and automotive manufacturing companies of the importance of making the switch before its entirely to late will cause a chain reaction of the remaining companies to follow suit.
