Questions 4 and 5 Questions 4 and 5 Presentation Transcript

    • Evaluation Questions 4 and 5.Talking about audience. 1
    • Who would be the audience for yourmedia product?• Who is the target audience?• How did you decide on this?• How do you know they are your audience?• What have you done to ensure they are attracted to your magazine?
    • Who would be the audience for your mediaproduct? At the start of this project, you did some research on audience and you decided you would be the target audience of your magazine. You should have also created an audience profile (if not, now would be a good time to do this). To complete this question you should: • Explain who your audience would be (age, gender, class etc). • Detail how you decided on them as a target audience. • Consider if you have made any changes from your initial thoughts. 3
    • Audience You did a lot of work at the start of the project researching products and their audiences. You need to explain who the audience would be for your final product. Why not try looking at your work objectively and imagine that you have been presented with these pages as a real media text – you could deconstruct your magazine on camera. Who do you think the audience would be? Apply the same methods that you used in your research stage to identify the audience and describe them to us. Remember to use pictures and text and other medium (video, sound) to get your ideas across. 4
    • How did you attract/address your audience? This is where you need to show the examiner you made choices onpurpose. You have a chance to showcase your talent. Here are somethings to consider:• What choices have you made to attract the audience?• What is good about your magazine, in terms of making it appealing to your target audience? How do you know this?• Could you include some vox pops?• What about putting it on facebook and getting feedback?
    • How did you attract/address your audience? You carefully considered every element of your magazine to make sure it would appeal to its audience. You need to explain the methods you used to attract your audience. You then need to explain the methods you used to address your audience. 6
    • Attracting and addressing your audience This question gives you a chance to really show off all the hard work you did and point out all those little details you included to make your audience interested in your product. Maybe it was a special font, brilliant photography or an interesting colour scheme that you used, or maybe all of the above. How did you use the house style to make it more appealing? Use the full potential of your blog and slideshare, prezi, video etc to show all the things you did to attract your audience and make your product visually appealing to them. 7
    • How did you attract/address your audience? Now consider how you addressed the audience. You need to consider how you used: • Language. • Pictures. • Font. • Layout. • Colour. • Adverts. • Offers. 8
    • Attracting and addressing your audience Once you attracted your audience, you addressed them. Give us examples of the way you used language to talk to your audience. You used certain words, certain phrases and certain writing styles to address the audience on a level they would feel comfortable with. Give us examples, explain to us. Think about the way your photography addresses the audience. You planned your models, costumes props and locations to say something to your audience. How do your photographs speak to your audience? What story do they tell? Think how you chose your colours and fonts to ensure your work ‘spoke’ to your target audience. 9
