Definition & Function of Touch Screen <ul><li>Touch screen is technology that screen is sensitive to pressure and used in PDA, smart phone, PMP, ATM and many other items used in many fields such as industry, media, commerce and services environment. </li></ul><ul><li>It was invented in 1971. </li></ul>

How a touch screen works. <ul><li>Types of touch screen technology: </li></ul><ul><li>Resistive: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Thin metallic electrically conductive. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>resistive layer that causes a change in the electrical current. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>registered as a touch event and sent to the controller for processing. </li></ul></ul>

How a touch screen works. <ul><li>Types of touch screen technology: </li></ul><ul><li>Capacitive: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>material that stores electrical charges. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>small amount of charge is drawn to the point of contact. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Circuits located at each corner of the panel measure the charge and send the information to the controller for processing. </li></ul></ul>

How a touch screen works. <ul><li>Types of touch screen technology: </li></ul><ul><li>Surface wave: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>ultrasonic waves that pass over the touch screen panel. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>a portion of the wave is absorbed. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>This change in the ultrasonic waves registers the position of the touch event and sends this information to the controller for processing. </li></ul></ul>

Touch Screen Smart board. <ul><li>Smart board with its’ smart pen has replaced the black boards and chalks. </li></ul><ul><li>Providing easy interactive when use whiteboard with digital pens. </li></ul><ul><li>Smart board can show presentation, playing multimedia clips, video conferencing, learning, </li></ul><ul><li>demonstrations, etc. </li></ul>

  11. 11. Touch Screen Mobiles. <ul><li>The absent of keypad handset increases the size to have bigger screen to see movie. </li></ul><ul><li>Navigation is appears clearly on touch screen than keypad handset. </li></ul>
  12. 12. Touch Screen Tablets <ul><li>Used as notebook for writing note. </li></ul><ul><li>Small size and weight and easy holding it by hand. </li></ul><ul><li>Good size to read e-book and playing games. </li></ul>
  13. 13. Benefit of touch screen: <ul><li>Thinner products, saving place. </li></ul><ul><li>Saving time, because of easy and quickly access. </li></ul><ul><li>Flexible movement for items, because small size, no wires and less devices requirement. </li></ul>
