    • Born July 18, 1921 in Cambridge Ohio .
    • Attended Muskingum College.
  • 3. John Herschel Glenn, Jr.
    • Was the first American to orbit the Earth
    • The NASA John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field in Cleveland , Ohio is named after him.
  • 4. Neil Armstrong
    • Neil Alden Armstrong was born on August 5,1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
    • He got a degree in aeronauti cal engineering from Purdue University.
  • 5. Neil Armstrong
    • On July 20, 1969 Mr. Armstrong and fellow astronaut Edwin Aldrin successfully touched down on the moon.
    • He and Aldrin explored the Moon's surface for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • 6. Buzz Aldrin
    • Was born July 18th 1921
    • Once hated homework but he loved football but his dad intervened and he gave up football.
    • In the early 1960’s was when he started his job with NASA as they selected him to be one of the early astronauts

    • James Arthur Lovell, Jr. was born on March 25, 1928.

    • An American Astronomer.
    • Arp was born in New York and educated at Harvard and the California Institute of Technology
    • Arp has attempted to relate the listings of galaxies to radio sources
  • 10. Nicholas Copernicus
    • Nicholas Copernicus (1473 -1543) was a Polish astronomer, well known for his Copernican theory.
    • His theory stated that sun rest near the center of the universe, and the earth, which spun daily on its axis, revolved annually around the sun.
  • 11. Kathryn Thornton
    • Kathryn Thornton was born in Montgomery, Alabama.
    • She received a bachelor's in physics from Auburn University in 1974.
    • Completing her training in 1985, Thornton has spent over 593 hours in space, including 21 hours of spacewalks.
  • 12. Eugene Cernan
    • Captain Eugene Cernan was one of the fourteen astronauts selected by NASA in October 1963.
    • He occupied the pilot seat alongside of command pilot Tom Stafford on the Gemini XI mission
