• 1. 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
In our media production the female character has a lot more power than the male characters which is unusual in a film as it is usually men that have more power. This is because the killer is usually male but our killer is female. She is also a teenager which in our society don’t have much power and aren’t usually known for being murderers in films. Our film changes the usual conventions of a thriller which can make it more frightening for the audience as a 15 year old female killer is rarely heard of.
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Our film is a low budget thriller film with a unique storyline. Many British media institutions have distributed low budget films so an institution in the UK would be the best option. An institution called “Icon Film Distribution UK” are well known for distributing horror and Thriller films so would be one of the better options to choose. Other media institution that may help advertise or distribute our production are:
• HMV(and other multimedia or movie stores)
    • 2. Facebook/Twitter(and other social networking sites)
    • 3. Youtube
    • 4. BBC
    4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

The target audience for our production would mostly be adults but may also receive interest from people in their late teens. The film is aimed to be a 15 so would be too inappropriate for young children. Most thrillers are aimed at men, so it would most probably receive a larger male audience. However the female killer could attract more interest from a female audience.
5. How did you attract/address your target audience?
We put our production up on facebook to receive feedback from other users. We asked them 5 questions to answer so that we could receive feedback on many specific elements of the film to see how it could be improved in the future to make it more to our audience’s liking.
19050271780
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

While constructing this short film I learnt many new skills. I developed my editing skills using IMovie HD, this was my first time using this software but I would now say that I would be comfortable using it again and reckon I would be able to use other editing software without having to learn how to use it. This showed me how to use cuts, transitions, add music, add sound effects, create still shots and titling together to create a more professional looking film.
I also learnt how to create a blog using BlogSpot, add new posts/embed videos on it and follow others which was a new experience for me.
7. Looking back at your preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
