Initial ideas and feedback

  1. 1. Initial Ideas and FeedbackKatie Scruton
  2. 2. Idea 1• Theme: Desserts.• Why? Because being a vegetarian is mainly focused on the healthyside so people should be aware that vegetarians can eat someunhealthy things. Some people become vegetarians for the healthylifestyle but that’s mostly not what being a vegetarian is about.• It also keeps the audience open because it doesn’t contain any agesor genders etc.• There can be a range of desserts so that vegans can be included aswell. For example 5-Ingredient Almond Butter Chews & AlmondButter Rice Crisp Treats (from:http://ohsheglows.com/2012/01/05/top-21-vegan-dessert-recipes-of-2011/) are suitable for vegans. Coffee and cream oatmealcookies, however, are only suitable for none meat eaters since ithas produce from a cow in it.
  3. 3. Feedback 1What do you like about the idea? QUITE AN OPEN AUDIENCE NOTRESTRICTING.What areas of the idea could be developed? DECIDE WHETHER ITS FORVEGANS OR VEGETARIANS FIRST SO ITS MORE FOCUSED.What do you find interesting about the idea? THE IDEA THAT MOSTVEGETARIANS EAT HEALTHY FOOD BUT SOME MAY WANT TO EATUNHEALTHY FOOD.
  4. 4. Idea 2• Theme: Italian.• Why? Many people enjoy eating Italian food so whynot let vegetarians enjoy it too? Most of the recipes forvegetarian Italian meals look appetising and varied. Not all of the recipes contain pasta but even if it is apasta dish it is flavoured with many different things liketomato and herbs etc.• You could also make some very nice vegetarian pizza toadd even more variation to the list of recipes.• A down side to vegetarian Italian dishes is that most ofit isn’t suitable for vegans so it closes your audience abit.
  5. 5. Feedback 2What do you like about the idea? I like the clear theme. Good idea toincorporate a nationality. What areas of the idea could be developed? Why Italian over any other typeof food? Why not lots of different styles of food. What do you find interesting about the idea? Different types of Italiancuisine it is also liked by most people.
  6. 6. Idea 3• Theme: Healthy.• Why? Being a vegetarian is a healthy lifestylemany people believe and so it should be. Therecipes that I have looked at are healthy, quick tomake and they all look very appetising. There area range of recipes, including things like starters, dips, main courses etc. This opens up youraudience by giving recipes to people looking fordifferent courses and foods.• Many of the recipes are also suitable for veganstoo so it opens your audience even more.
  7. 7. Feedback 3What do you like about the idea? I like the audience the theme is aimed atas a lot of people like to watch what they eat, so I think this will attract awide audience. What areas of the idea could be developed? Again make it more focuseddecide on either vegans or vegetarians. What do you find interesting about the idea? I liked the idea of differentcourses.
  8. 8. Idea 4• Theme: Christmas.• Why? Christmas food is mainly meat based so it can behard to feed a vegetarian a traditional dinner. However, some recipes are just as filling and festive as atraditional dinner. The recipes I looked at also includeappetisers, main courses, desserts and more.• This opens your audience up for ages and genders etcbut closes it off to some religions that don’t celebrateChristmas. However, anyone could make the recipes fora cold night in winter or even serve the appetisers at aparty.
  9. 9. Feedback 4What do you like about the idea? Really good idea havent heard of itbefore for recipes would really benefit vegetarians at Christmas. What areas of the idea could be developed? Specify what type of christmasfood. What do you find interesting about the idea? I like that the audience is veryopen.
  10. 10. Idea 5• Theme: Barbecue.• Why? People associate barbecues with meat, leaving vegetarians out. However, there are manyrecipes that can be done on the barbecue orserved at a barbecue for vegetarians. Most of thefood from the recipes I have looked at lookcolourful and ready for summer time, just like theusual barbecue produce.• This also keeps your audience open with age, gender, race etc not being specified or suggested. The recipes also include vegan recipes too.
  11. 11. Feedback 5What do you like about the idea? Like the idea of it for summer and that ithelps get vegetarians involved in barbecues. What areas of the idea could be developed? Specify somethings that couldbe used (for example, a vegetable kebab stick). What do you find interesting about the idea? That many vegetarian foodscan be involved at a barbecue or even barbecued themselves.
  12. 12. Summary of FeedbackWhat do you agree with from your feedback?I agree that I need to think if a certain theme is especially for vegetarians or vegans. Ialso agree that many of the dishes are very open with their audience. What do you disagree with from your feedback?I disagree with the “Why Italian?” part because I chose Italian because many peoplelike it because it is a vast range of food.
  13. 13. Idea EvaluationWhich idea that you came up with is your favourite and why?I think that the barbecue idea is a good idea since many vegetarians feel like they can’thave or attend barbecues. However, I really like the dessert idea because they are easyto make and taste good no matter what so if you like the food you’ll have morepassion and joy in cooking it.Which idea, that your team came up with, is your favourite and why?As a team we have agreed to do sushi because it will bring more culture to our recipecards.
