Modern monkeys

Based on Friedrich Dürrenmatt "Der Besuch der alten Dame" (English Title: "The Visit") In this story, an old lady who becomes the wealthiest person in the world returns to the village that cast her out as a young woman, and offers riches to the town in exchange for the life of the man, now its mayor, who once disgraced her. In my sculptor I show three simple ladies that in fact are ready to kill although they look pretty innocent. As a fierce symbol of the subjection to the power of money, in my sculpture (and in the story) people in the village start to wear the "yellow shoes". Yellow shoes

In my sculptures I have found a way to express my emotional experiences, thoughts, ideas and observations and to make them perceptible in the true sense of the meaning. Sculpturing means to me bringing the inside to the outside and is one of my most favorite ways of communicating. With my artwork I cordially invite the visitor to enter my world, participate in it or inspire people to let their imaginative forces create their own vision. To reach this aim I use bronze, plastic, steel and mortar. Anna Skrabal

Patrick Feldmann Art to me is expression, in the sense of act. Art is a laboratory of acting, acting to comprehend reality. There are several approaches to reality: the technical is the most common, but in consequence it is reduction of the real to the useful. All realization depends on the method. My method is reading my existence in my works, like a shaman would do with his sticks, like the augur did with the viscera. What art can give us is a refinement and authorization of all our senses for the sense of our lives.
