Managing national technology services Our role • Provide a coherent architecture • Manage, review and renew national services and applications • Work with the market Work includes… • Assess needs from ‘Safer Wards, Safer Hospitals’ initiative, the NHS Technology Fund and Integrated Care Pioneer programmes • An involvement programme to explore new technologies • Audit and publish a directory of the current infrastructure • Programme helping social care system providers get access to the national infrastructure • Consult on principles that will inform the Renewal Programme

Providing information to support better care Our role • Publish accessible information • Establish a library of indicators • Support data requirements of key partners Work includes… • New publications strategy • Extend range of Official, National and Experimental Statistics • New publication techniques and more tailored reports • New portal for accessing all indicators • Greater use of our indicator assurance process • Memoranda of Understanding with key partners • Annual programme for creating and publishing linked data sets

Supporting the wider economy Our role • Develop information marketplace • Service for life-science industry • Develop the UK skills base • Partnerships for innovation • Support the local community Work includes… • Clear guidelines for data sharing • Access to information for international life-science industry • Collaborate to prioritise data collections and linkages • Consult on informatics skills needed for the new health and care systems • “Innovation Hub” within the HSCIC • Consolidate our role as key employer in Leeds
