Building confidence in the use of information Our role • Keep data secure • Reduce burden and bureaucracy • Improve data quality • Interoperability and Standards Work includes… • Code of Practice for handling Personal Confidential Data • Campaign to identify bureaucracy and ways to reduce it • First annual report on administrative burden • Clear data quality activities for each service area • 2nd annual report on data quality • Audit the provision of information standards • Review the Interoperability Toolkit

Managing national technology services Our role • Provide a coherent architecture • Manage, review and renew national services and applications • Work with the market Work includes… • Assess needs from ‘Safer Wards, Safer Hospitals’ initiative, the NHS Technology Fund and Integrated Care Pioneer programmes • An involvement programme to explore new technologies • Audit and publish a directory of the current infrastructure • Programme helping social care system providers get access to the national infrastructure • Consult on principles that will inform the Renewal Programme
