So far 6 people have died (4 drowned and 2 eaten by crocodiles)
Tens of thousands have been made homeless and another 14,000 people being moved on Saturday (12 th Jan)
People have been climbing trees and onto rooftops to escape the floodwaters.
Other effects? <ul><li>No-one knows yet how severe the flooding will be this time. There are more storms forecast and the ground is already saturated. </li></ul><ul><li>Thousands of people are at risk of food shortages, both in the short term and in the long term as crops have been washed away. </li></ul><ul><li>There is a risk of water-borne diseases such as cholera </li></ul>
