  • A Level Geography At Guildford County School
  • Exam Board : AQA Entry Requirements : You do not need to have completed GCSE Geography, but you should have at least 5 GCSEs grades A* to C, and an interest in the world around you.
  • AS Geography You will study Physical and Human Geography topics, and learn Geographical Skills. View slide
  • In Physical Geography, you will study River Floods and Management, View slide
  • And one from Cold Environments,
  • Coastal Environments,
  • And Hot Desert Environments and their Margins.
  • In Human Geography, you will study Population Change,.
  • Food Supply Issues,
  • Energy Issues,
  • And Health Issues.
  • Geographical skills are learnt through the Physical and Human Geography topics, and through fieldwork.
  • A2 Geography You will investigate Contemporary Geographical Issues, and complete either a Geography Fieldwork Investigation, or a Geographical Issues Evaluation.
  • Contemporary Geographical Issues will include two Physical Options from Plate Tectonics and Associated Hazards,
  • Weather and Climate and Associated Hazards,
  • And Ecosystems: Change and Challenge,
  • And two Human Options from World Cities,
  • Development and Globalisation,
  • And Contemporary Conflicts and Challenges.
  • The examination on either the Fieldwork Investigation or the Geographical Issue Evaluation is completed instead of coursework.
