    A Level Geography - Presentation Transcript

    1. A Level Geography At Guildford County School
    2. Exam Board: AQA Entry Requirements: You do not need to have completed GCSE Geography, but you should have at least 5 GCSEs grades A* to C, and an interest in the world around you.
    3. AS Geography You will study Physical and Human Geography topics, and learn Geographical Skills.
    4. In Physical Geography, you will study River Floods and Management,
    5. And one from Cold Environments,
    6. Coastal Environments,
    7. And Hot Desert Environments and their Margins.
    8. In Human Geography, you will study Population Change, and one from
    9. Food Supply Issues,
    10. Energy Issues,
    11. And Health Issues.
    12. Geographical skills are learnt through the Physical and Human Geography topics, and through fieldwork.
    13. A2 Geography You will investigate Contemporary Geographical Issues, and complete either a Geography Fieldwork Investigation, or a Geographical Issues Evaluation.
    14. Contemporary Geographical Issues will include two Physical Options from Plate Tectonics and Associated Hazards,
    15. Weather and Climate and Associated Hazards,
    16. And Ecosystems: Change and Challenge,
    17. And two Human Options from World Cities,
    18. Development and Globalisation,
    19. And Contemporary Conflicts and Challenges.
    20. The examination on either the Fieldwork Investigation or the Geographical Issue Evaluation is completed instead of coursework.
