5. 5. Nursing informatics
"a combination of computer science, information science and nursing science designed to assist in the management and processing of nursing data, information and knowledge to support the practice of nursing and the delivery of nursing care".
6. 6. Health informatics
Health Informatics
Implies inclusion of nursing and allied health providers, not just “doctors” (aka, “physicians”)
Implies all of health processes (leaves more room for the relevance of the consumers and their advocates, and for prevention)
They would enable us to decide many of the questions beside the one alluded to. They would show subscribers how their money was being spent. What amount of good was really being done with it, or whether the money was not doing mischief rather than good”
Florence Nightingale 1863
