    • 2008 EDUCATIONAL UNITY GEAR Prepared for _________________________________________________ __________________________________________ ABCs of HBCUs
    • This 2008 Gifted by God Instruction Manual was given by:__________________ If found, please return to
    • The A-B-Cs of HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) Pennant Photos Courtesy of The Mathis Group, Earl Mathis, CEO
    • Design Themes: Psalm 127:3 says "Children are a gift of the Lord". We created this design out of our love for God and our desire to spread the message that our children are precious, need nurturing and carry the future on their tiny shoulders. What we invest in today, will reap tomorrow's dividends. The Design Theme
    • A parent is a baby’s first teacher about who he or she is in life. Of course life has setbacks and disappointments, and yet unfortunately, we cannot shield them from this fact in the end. Every child is a gift. We all have a special gift. It is up to us to unwrap the gift and enjoy what it brings to our life. The Parent
    • The Story
      • A long time ago, God created the world, the universe, life itself. Once upon a time, everything was absolutely perfect. No flaws, no imperfections, no scars, no broken dreams, no painful arthritis, no bad images on T.V.
      • There were clear and distinct roles for the earth, the sea and the weather. He knew exactly what a perfect gift he was giving us from the very start...the breath of life. It exists within all of us.
      • Breathe in. Close your eyes. Breathe out.
      • Your perfect gift is to be able to do that on your own. You can do it all by yourself. When you came into the world on your birthday, guess what? No one had to teach you how to do this.
      • God had already created a perfect setting for you to take this gift and to be able to know now that he already decided why you need to take that breath on your own. U are special and unqiuely made. He is going to make you perfect through the experiences that you encounter today and tomorrow. We all have special gifts, and we must celebrate them. We can begin to enjoy and share these gifts by carefully opening them up. It is selfish to complain about things we do not have in life when our gifts have yet to be opened up. It is rude to not say, "Thank you for my gift" when you have not even accepted your gift. It is a shame to focus on someone else's gift when yours is sitting in your hands unopened. Gifted by God is a subtle reminder to us all to take the time to share your love for positive growth for the little munchkins in all of our lives.
    • Daily Say to yourself each and every day, “I have a passion for excellence, a passion to become the very best, and a passion to set high expectations for this new baby!” The Lesson
      • Weekly
      • Please read this shirt aloud to the baby whenever it is worn. Please take a moment to do the following in your own words and in your own special and loving way:
        • 1) Point out the letter G, b and G and describe what a gift is and who God is in your life. What do you remember about the days leading up to his or her birth?
        • 2) Sound out the letters and point to the words underneath and read out loud “Gifted by God”. Describe what special gifts he or she may possess deep inside.
        • 3) Point out the heart in the middle of the “b”. Tell the baby how much you love him or her and give 1 reason why. Explain why the heart is a part of the design?
    • HBCUs HBCUs have been producing many of the world’s powerful leaders, entertainers and achievers since 1837. There are over 105 HBCU schools in the United States of America. There are over 1,500,000 people who graduated from these schools. We want to encourage our babies to grow up and continue this outstanding tradition of excellence. Famous people who call these schools “home” for HOMECOMING include: A-Alcee Hastings J-(Rev) Jesse Jackson S-Sean "P Diddy" Combs B-Booker T.
