VAS graduates have a reputation among insurance agencies of being ready to close quality claims right out of school. This is so much the case that the entire graduating class of June 2016 was offered to help out in the recent Canadian wildfire crisis. Over half of the class went directly to Canada post-graduation to make $500 a day helping fire victims get the necessary compensation they need in order to put their lives back together. Insurance agencies prefer Veteran Adjusting School graduates because the school only accepts prospective students that are dedicated, hard-working, organized, and self-motivated. The catastrophe adjusting field requires these skills because the adjusters are independently contracted, make their own hours, and must accurately represent the professional image of the agencies that they are contracted through.
