  8. 8. MONDAY JULY 13 Vivian Salaga, AIA What is an Architect and how do you become one? Mrs. Salaga spoke about her experiences as an architect and how you become an architect. She also spoke about the AIA and its activities. SEAS 2009

  12. 12. TUESDAY JULY 14 Grant Rimbey - M. Leo Elliot and historic architecture Mr. Grant Rimbey spoke about early 1900’s architects including M. Leo Elliot who designed the Tampa City Hall. SEAS 2009

  21. 21. TUESDAY JULY 14 Kress Grants Woolworths Stephanie Ferrell FAIA We walked to the south and saw the Kress, Grant’s, Woolworth’s block. Ms. Ferrell told us that they were significant historical buildings. SEAS 2009

  31. 31. WEDNESDAY JULY 15 City of Tampa Departments Mr. Fernandez showed us his office and the Historic Preservation library. The library contains codes, guidelines, resource books and samples. SEAS 2009

  37. 37. THURSDAY JULY 16 Florida Southern Antonio Amadeo AIA The Frank Lloyd Wright Campus of Florida Southern College is the largest collection of Wright’s buildings in one location. The campus is on the National Historic Register. SEAS 2009

  39. 39. THURSDAY JULY 16 Florida Southern Antonio Amadeo AIA The walkway canopies reflect the structure of the orange trees on the campus. The are very wide and low. SEAS 2009

  44. 44. FRIDAY JULY 17 Wilson Miller Michael English took us on a tour of the Wilson Miller offices. The building is a converted cigar factory in Ybor City. Wilson Miller is a planning firm with civil engineers, planners, landscape architects. SEAS 2009

  60. 60. THURSDAY JULY 23 Richard Brewer SEAS Alumnus Richard Brewer is an alumnus of SEAS 2007. He is currently enrolled in the architecture program at Florida Atlantic University. He told us how he prepared and submitted his application and he brought samples of his first year project. He also described what life as an architecture student is like! SEAS 2009
