We used to do that alot when I was a child.
I still love to use leftovers and make a kind of all-in-all salad.

Let’s work on a leftovers makeover salad. Standby your favourite Salad Dressing
¼ of this will do Shred it.
Peel skin off. Cut into cubes. ½ will do. Pick 1 up.
Mix in Salad Dressing (My choice? Thousand Island Dressing.) Put cut ingredients into a Add ½ a can of (I prefer Tuna in Mayonnaise.)
Serve with… … bread or crackers
Is it delicious? Nothing’s left to photograph! What do you think?
