Slide 2: From Trash To Chic

Slide 3: Salvage 7 Used Batteries

Slide 4: Salvage 4 Plastic Bags in 2-3 Colours

Slide 5: Prepare Plastic Bags • Cut both handles off the plastic bags. • Cut 7 pieces from larger plastic bags to form petals. • Cut 7 pieces from smaller plastic bags to form stamens (the centre of flower).

Slide 6: Salvage Bottom of Plastic Bags  Choose a lighter colour plastic bag to form a ribbon to hold the following stripe around the batteries. Fold plastic bag in half, horizontally, and half again till you get the desired size prefered before cutting.  Do the same to create one more stripe in a darker colour to form the side of the flower. The length does not matter but the width must be wide enough to cover the height of battery.

Slide 7: Create Petals and Stamens  Turn the handle inside out so that the seams are on the inside.  Open it up to form this triangular shape.  Create these from the larger plastic bags to form 7 petals.  Slip 1 battery into the sleeve of each triangle to form a stamen.  Create 7 Stamens.

Slide 8: Salvage 2 Rubber Bands  Group all 7 wrapped batteries and hold them together with a rubber band.  Place one petal at the side of the batteries and continue doing that till all petals used up.

Slide 9: Wrap Side and Tie Ribbon

Slide 10: Cut Off Excess Plastic From Base.

Slide 11: Side View of Flower

Slide 12: Purpose For This Creation  Decorate dinning table.  Paper weight.  Attach as weight to the bottom corners of curtains.  Reduce waste. When plastic bags are indiscriminately discarded, they choke waterways and litter beaches, parks and streets.  Leakage from batteries in landfill harm the environment.
