  • Directly relates to our mission of growing the green economy (i.e. something that we specifically should be doing, not just somebody) – ensures that money that starts green, stays green Gently and positively impacts your consumption habits
  • Businesses value their own goods/services at their wholesale cost, and value others’ goods/services at market value. If you can work direct barter out, most people intuitively understand why it’s beneficial.
  • Market liquidity  describes how easily an item can be traded for another item, or into the common currency within an economy. Money is the most liquid asset because it is universally recognized and accepted as the common currency. In this way, money gives consumers the  freedom  to trade goods and services easily without having to barter. Using fiat currency (money declared by a government to be legal tender, without intrinsic value) is much more flexible, but there are no benefits associated with different valuations of goods and services.

  • We are giving businesses credit-lines, not loans
  • These IOUs have become an interchangeable liquid currency, that (unlike our national currency) is actually backed by something – the goods and services of its users.

  • IOUs are not for specific pre-determined goods and services. They are just an amount of Trade Dollar debt (pegged to USD) that a business agrees are redeemable for their goods/services. legally binding
  • Generates business that would not have happened otherwise. Promotes repeat business (money confined within the system is more likely to come back to your business). Allows businesses to trade excess inventory to cover variable expenses like advertising, consulting and graphic design, while conserving cash for fixed expenses like rent and wages. Offers a method of trying new products off market, soliciting feedback, generating referrals, and testing consumer acceptance before a full product launch. Active participation opens the possibility of introducing employee and consumer rewards down the line.
  • Basic Accounts (no credit line): To receive the benefits of participation in GAEx a company or organization must be a dues-paying member of the Green Business Network™ (GBN). GBN membership now includes a pre-approved FREE Basic Account in the Exchange that allows you to add offers and listings free of charge, with only a small trading fee on completed transactions.
