  • 5. 1 Peter 1:1[1] Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen
  • 6. 1 Peter 1:6 [6] In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, ifnecessary, you have been distressedby various trials, [7] so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, …
  • 7. 1 Peter 2:12 [12] Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you asevildoers, they may because of yourgood deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.
  • 8. 1 Peter 3:14 [14] But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear theirintimidation, and do not be troubled,
  • 9. 1 Peter 4:12-16 [12] Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; [13] but to thedegree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that alsoat the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation.

[15] Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; [16] but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name.
  • 11. 1 Peter 5:9-10 [9] But resist him, firm in your faith,knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.[10] After you have suffered for a littlewhile, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

  • 19. 1 Peter 2:21-24[21] For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,[22] Who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in his mouth;
  • 20. 1 Peter 2:21-24 [23] and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but keptentrusting Himself to Him who judgesrighteously; [24] and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

  • 24. Final Thought: 1 Peter 5:12[12] Through Silvanus, our faithful brother (for so I regard him), I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!
