  • I am very interested in the PLE,in the modern society,we were trapped in the information,and therefor we need a PLE to help us gather the information and knowledge what we need ,but i also think we need a SLE(short for Social Learning Environments ) for us to communicate with others for building learning networks with them,how do you think?

  • and institutional pedagogic approaches reflected the idea of ‘currere’
  • curriculum - a race winners, losers same starting point same finish point a straight line who is fastest rule bound
  • timekeeping, obedience, neatness, tidiness, cleanliness and…….
  • HOMOGENEITY
  • Virtual Learning Environments have been based on traditional educational models
  • for managing learners
  • The push delivery of curriculum and learning materials
  • in walled gardens
  • owned by the institution
  • with hierarchical privileges
  • This model is now being challenged
  • personalisation of learning
  • new demand for education
  • new sources and contexts of learning
  • the changing ways in which people are using computers
  • developing personal learning networks
  • participating in communities of practice
  • appropriating technologies for learning
  • using multiple devices
  • learning through practice

  • Shaping digital identities
  • in other words developing their own Personal Learning Environments
  • The challenge to institutions is to engage with the new possibilities the PLE offers
