ONLINE ACTIVITIES A great way to ask parents to get involved with the programThe activities can bedone at home with aparent/guardian and then the girl can come back and share what she learned

ADDRESS BOOKLETWe encourage troops to ask girls to do the address books athome with a parent/guardian. We also ask that you encouragethe parents for complete address’ – Council spends many hoursgoing through making sure the address’ are complete andunduplicated.

MAGAZINE ORDERINGMAGAZINES can be purchasedthree ways:•Direct Mailing - with theaddress booklets•Forms - please make surethey are filled out completelyand turned in on time•Online – they can be orderedand paid for online (DetailedOrder Report)

WHAT DOES THE PROFIT BREAK DOWN LOOK LIKE? Troop 12345 has 5 Registered Girl Scouts who all: Submitted completed address booklets Sent 12 e-mails on-line through the QSP sight Sold 5 Juliette Gordon Low Tins @ $10 each Sold 6 Magazine Subscriptions @ $12 eachTROOP:5 Address Booklets = 5 X $1.50= $7.50 Tin Sales = 5 X 5 X(10 X 15%) = $37.50Magazine Sales = 5 X 6 X (12 X 15%)= $54 Total Earned = $99Service Unit Earning:12 emails per girl = 0.25 x 5 = $1.25 Tin Sales = 1% of $37.30 = $0.37Magazine Sales = 1% of $54 = $0.54 Total Earned = $2.16Service Unit has numerous troops. If 10 troops do this, Service Unit earns $21.60. What if the Service Unit reach 2%? - Service Unit would earn $30.76.

“GREENBEANS” ACCESSLast year was a challenge withthe user names andpasswords…..How are we going toavoid that this year?Let’s take a moment and walkthrough the process…….

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT “GREENBEANS”If your email provider is AOL.com, you must create a new email account, with a different provider, for the purpose of this sale. The security embedded in AOL will disrupt your ability to use “GreenBeans”. Third-party email providers, such as Gmail and Hotmail/Live.com, work well.“GreenBeans” has been developed on a Windows PC using Internet Explorer, but the program has been enhanced to work on a MAC. However, while MAC is supported, GSEM staff works with Windows and will not be able to provide technical support for MAC users.Troops participating in the Fall Sale MUST be registered for the 2012-2013 year. If your Troop is not, the username/password will stop working and all products and recognitions will be held until registration is completed and confirmed.Users who had access during the Fall Sale last year, will NOT need to be invited again, but they will not be allowed access to any part of “GreenBeans” without a signed volunteer agreement.

For Service Unit users with Troops and Troop users with multiple Troops, there are special circumstances you must be made aware of:• You are able to use the same email address for all accounts, but your username must be different, otherwise your permissions will conflict• If you do not give us separate usernames, only the account you setup first will work correctly • For example: • You set up an account with email: girlscouts@gsem.org; username: gsem12 with Service Unit permissions • You set up another account using the same email with Troop permissions; it is automatically assigned the gsem12 username. The only account that will work correctly is the Service Unit one • The same would happen for a user with multiple Troops, the first one setup is the ONLY one that will work *The next slide will give you helpful solutions to these problems.*

Solutions for multi-level users:1. You will need to share, with Council, all the usernames you intend to use for each of your accounts and tell us if they are either a Service Unit or Troop user2. The best way to resolve these problems is to have multiple email accounts and have GSEM setup each one as either a Service Unit or Troop user, from the beginning

LOGIN PROCESS FOR FALL SALE SERVICE UNITStep 1: MANAGERS After you have signed the Fall Sale agreement, the GSEM DatabaseCoordinator will email you an invitation to the 2012 Fall Sale Database,“GreenBeans”. (the next slide has an example of what the invitation looks like)Step 2: To login to the database, you will need to go towww.girlscoutseasternmass.org/cookies Click on ‘Enter the Fall Sale Database’ link;this will direct you to the Service Unit page, SAVE this link! (do not use the invitation linkto log into Greenbeans)Step 3: Email the GSEM Database Coordinator attsammons@girlscoutseasternmass.org the list of Fall Sale Advisors, who havesigned the Fall Sale Agreement – Name, Email, Troop Number – so he can e-mailthem their invitations; he will e-mail you when this is completed.Step 4:Make sure that all troops you sent to the Database Coordinator are listed inGreenbeans. If there are any questions, please contact the Database Coordinator attsammons@girlscoutseasternmass.org.

YOUR INVITATION• After the signed agreement is received you will receive an invitation to join “Greenbeans 2012” from the Database Coordinator at GSEM• You will fill out a simple form and set up your user name and password Creating your Troop Record • You will be emailed an invitation (below) to 2012 “GreenBeans” - from the database coordinator at GSEM - and will need to fill out a simple form to setup your username and password 8

BEFORE ENTERING THE GREENBEANS WEBSITE (NEW THIS YEAR)• You will also be prompted to check a box (*) claiming financial responsibility for all transactions incurred by your Troop *THIS IS REQUIRED REMINDER (NOT NEW)• To log into the database, you will need to go to www.girlscoutseasternmass.org/cookies and click on ‘Enter Fall Sale Database’; this will direct you to your Troop page; make sure you save this link! - DO NOT LOG-IN THROUGH THE INVITATION PAGE.
