For the first time, National State Power Ministers’ conference was
held in Guwahati where Ministers & Officials from all over India
converged in North East

More than 1 lakh solar pumps sanctioned in the past year
Solar pumps helped lakhs of farmers increase output, income and
also provide drinking water.
Drinking water problem will be solved for more than 7.6 lakh
families through solar pumps for drinking water
UNNAT CHULHA ABHIYAN provides improved cook stoves for clean cooking, thus saving
the lives of our mothers and sisters. 3.5 lakh cook stoves were sanctioned last year.

35. Swachh BharatThe PSUs under the three Ministries are committed to active involvement in this effort.
As a first step, they are investing over
` 2,250 Cr. for
over 1,25,000 toilets
separately for boys and girls by 15th
August, 2015 particularly in the needy states such as
Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.
After construction, the PSUs will also maintain these toilets for a period of five years thus
ensuring a complete sanitation programme.
Awareness is being created in local communities to improve over all sanitation.
