Based in Dubai and founded in 2012, Nabbesh is a skills marketplace that connects freelancers to jobs. With Nabbesh, freelancers can create profiles listing their skills and experience and recruiters can post job descriptions based on their needs. Nabbesh bridges these two parties by connecting skilled workers to the appropriate jobs.

In April 2013, the company reported a user base of over 15,000 members across a variety of jobs and skills, from graphic design, to translation, to project management.

To help nurture its user base, Nabbesh implemented Gigya’s Connected Consumer Management Suite. By using Gigya’s technology to power social experiences on its website, Nabbesh continues to grow its dynamic user base.

  • 1. Nabbesh: Socializing the Freelancer-Employer Relationship Featured Implementation
  • 2. Introduction Based in Dubai and founded in 2012, Nabbesh is a skills marketplace that connects freelancers to jobs.
  • 3. Challenge: Foster Deeper Engagement with Improved User Experiences As Nabbesh continues to scale its user base, it redesigned its site with four goals in mind: To help accomplish its goals, Nabbesh implemented Gigya’s Connected Consumer Management Suite. By using Gigya’s technology to power social experiences on its website, Nabbesh continues to nurture and grow its dynamic user base. 1. Create a seamless user experience that lets users port existing profile data into Nabbesh’s platform without making them fill out tedious forms 2. Promote an engaging, social online environment that encourages user interaction 3. Generate more social referral traffic by making sharing customizable and fun 4. Understand its diverse user base better to allow for more targeted, personalized communications
  • 4. Nabbesh uses Social Login to offer multiple registration and login options for users. Social Login allows users to quickly and easily sign up for Nabbesh accounts, while giving Nabbesh access to rich social profile data on these users which it can use to personalize web experiences and marketing campaigns. Improved User Experiences with Social Login
  • 5. Social Login Eliminates User Anonymity After users register and sign in, Nabbesh personalizes the entire site experience based on the user’s name and location. For instance, the user’s profile photo and full name shows up at the top right corner of the site after she logs in. Because the above user entered an address in Dubai, UAE as her location, Nabbesh surfaces profiles of users closest in proximity to that user’s location. This sort of customization provides valuable relevancy to users who would otherwise remain virtually anonymous to businesses.
  • 6. Nabbesh’s Community Feed offers a view into other users’ site activity. The feed updates in real time and fosters a sense of community across Nabbesh’s vast network of professionals. Activity Feed Fosters Online Community
  • 7. More User Interactions with Customized Profiles, Comments, and Reactions Nabbesh provides a platform for users to build and edit their online work profiles. Profiles showcase previous projects; relevant skills, certificates, languages; and link to other sites such as LinkedIn for a more comprehensive view of the users’ experience and skill level.
  • 8. Social Profile Linking Gathers Users’ Online Data into One Location By letting users link their existing online profiles to Nabbesh, the site becomes a comprehensive portal into users’ work histories and skills. Letting users sync their social identities onto one platform encourages repeat visitors and enables Nabbesh to collect valuable data on their users.
  • 9. Comments and Share Plugins Add Layer of Interaction To enhance the user experience, Nabbesh lets users Comment on each other’s portfolio pieces and Share commenting activity across their socially linked channels.
  • 10. Reactions Make for Easy, Customizable Social Interactions Users can also express themselves in a single click with the Reactions plugin, which Nabbesh has customized to match the theme of its company and site. Specifically, users can rate others’ work “Good” or “Owlsome.”
  • 11. Social Sharing for Increased Exposure From the moment new users sign in to the site, it’s clear to them that Nabbesh’s user base is social, as evidenced by the distribution of shares, tweets, and Likes across multiple social networks. Share plugins can be found everywhere across Nabbesh’s site, even just after users first register for an account.
  • 12. Sharing Makes Promotion Easier and Increases Social Referral Traffic As users add new skills to their profiles, they can simultaneously share these skills across their social channels. This provides opportunities for users to promote themselves easily through social media and gives Nabbesh more exposure to different networks.
  • 13. Sharing Lets Users Deliver Relevant Content to Friends Users can easily share interesting or relevant job postings with their social networks instantly without ever leaving Nabbesh.com.
  • 14. Sharing Promotes Brand and Site Awareness Commenting and Reactions activity can be easily and instantly shared across users’ social networks. This drives valuable social referral traffic back to Nabbesh.com and promotes brand and site awareness.
  • 15. Mending the Business-Consumer Disconnect with Social As Nabbesh continues to reshape the freelance employment market, the company uses Gigya’s Connected Consumer Management Suite to engage its wide user base in valuable, targeted ways. By integrating social across its site, Nabbesh is able to connect with each of its users on an individual level by tailoring elements of its site accordingly. “Gigya’s technology has allowed us to bridge the disconnect that many businesses with diverse user bases like ours struggle with,” said Nabbesh co-founder Rima Al-Sheikh. “We’re able to understand and identify users like never before and provide new, exciting ways for them to engage with the site.”
