Slide 5: What’s up with Open Source? Developments in open source software are rapidly changing the face of the virtual world and social media landscapes. Much of our current focus in this arena is on platforms such as OpenSim and OpenSocial.

Slide 6: OpenSim This platform is offering an alternative to virtual world spaces such as Second Life, adding more flexibility, lower costs, and robust technology. Genkii has significant experience with OpenSim, and half of our employees are core developers for the platform.

Slide 7: OpenSocial Google and partners’ open source initiative will help allow greater flexibility to interact across various social media platforms. We will advise our clients how best to use these tools to activate their largest and most relevant audiences.

Slide 8: So, Genkii only does Open Source? Not at all. In our white papers, we will recommend whatever we feel is best for the client and project in question. We have experience across many platforms, and will research and recommend others in order to find the most appropriate solutions. We do believe that the level of flexibility offered by open source platforms will often be the best choice, but not in every case. We take this into consideration. We want our clients to have all the information they need to make an informed decision, and best use their resources.

Our team has experience with implementation across platforms, from small projects to large, so we understand what to expect in these emerging spaces, what to look out for, and how to respond to changing environments.
